D&D 5E The Clean Sheet

Hi,

I really like your sheet, but I have a couple issues I was hoping you could fix:

1. The mods for ability scores are not being calculated when I type my stats in. Skill and save mods appear in their repective boxes, just not in the boxes next to each stat.

2. Skills do not update when I click the circle for proficiency. I can only get it to work by clicking "skills" at the top of the sheet twice.

3. This is real nitpicky but at the top of the sheet where you type your name, race, etc., some of the text "hovers" above the lines and some doesn't.

Thanks!

Sorry, I somehow missed your post before. Weird stuff. Could you tell me which viewer + operation system you are using? Then I'll try to replicate the errors. Also, I've just updated the sheet, so you can try the new version.

The new version is available. Big update, check the first post for more info.

Because much was added, it's likely there are typo's, bugs, etc. Please tell me if you find something.

Hi,

I'll check out the new sheet asap. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with an OLD laptop running Vista for the time being. I'm forced to use Foxit reader because the latest version of Adobe Reader won't let me save and later edit forms in Vista :(

Thanks!

I'm liking the new sheet. My only complaint is that the to-hit calculation for weapons is auto-calculation by default, and there doesn't appear to be a way to turn that off. This is an issue because of the many classes/races that add proficiency with a small number of weapons, but not all weapons of a given type (simple or martial).

EDIT: Also, a suggestion for the next version. I'm liking the auto-add options for spells, but adding every spell is something only really useful for Divine casters. If it's not impractical (and if it won't earn you a C&D), would it be possible to add the following feature, or something similar to it?

If the user types in the names of spells exactly as written (I'm not advocating for a search function, I would imagine that to be even more tedious), and toggles an automation control for spells, every other field is filled in automatically from the description depository. I don't know if something like this is even feasible within the confines of the PDF format, but it would be appreciated.

EDIT 2: Holy :):):):), that's already a feature. I want to favorite this sheet twice.

Okay I must be a dunce tonight. How do I increase the character level in the new v2?

EDIT: Also, looks like monk attacks with simple weapons aren't calculating off of Dex.

Hi,

I played around with the new version and I'm happy to report that ability mods and skills are now calculating for me. I have noticed a couple new issues, however:

1. The Light cantrip is missing some information.

2. Every time I close the sheet it asks me if I want to save, even if I haven't made any changes.

Again, I'm on an old laptop running Vista and using Foxit reader, so maybe that's the problem. Also, and I know this is nitpicking, but the text in the character name, player name, patron/god, and appearance boxes doesn't "hover" above the lines like in the other fields, instead it's right on the line. Otherwise, this sheet is FANTASTIC, by far the best 5e sheet out there, imo.

Thanks!

To add levels, add the number to the class (e.g. "Fighter 2"). The character level is updated accordingly.

I will change how the monk weapons work. For now, you can use "Martial arts", which covers it in all but name.

I've tried FoxIt before and it changes the layout and doesn't fully support some functions. The missing spell info is likely a result from the latter; it works fine in Acrobat. If Acrobat DC doesn't work for some reason (security setting perhaps?), you might see if you can find the previous version 11 and try that.

The sheet updates/changes all kinds of things behind the scenes (hidden counters etc.), hence the question if you want to save changes. It's normal, and save to ignore.

EDIT: Just tried FoxIt again and experienced the same problems. It does show all spell info when you type in the names manually, though.

I see what you mean. To stop auto-calculation, just add a space to the weapon's name, e.g. "Warhammer " instead of "Warhammer". This will turn it into an unknown weapon and makes the calculations stop, so that you can edit everything. I might make a button for this later.

By the way, you can add individual weapon proficiencies in the LANGUAGES & OTHER PROFICIENCIES fields. If the weapon's name is written somewhere there, the sheet will recognize you as proficient with that weapon.

The newest version (v2.1) now recognizes all monk weapons and, if you have monk levels, changes the damage and adds finesse. Furthermore, the weapon tooltips now show all properties and other weapon fields aren't locked anymore, so that you can read their tooltips.
