Anyone have Fantasy Hero Complete?

So I have pretty much every major release from HERO 6e. One thing that I skipped out on was Champions complete because I had heard it was an all in one type of book. I figured since I had owned all the books, then I'd pass this one up. However I found out Fantasy Hero Complete came out, and it sparked my interest. I'd definitely like a portable book instead of carrying the massive massive tomes of 6e's core books and Fantasy Book. Will I enjoy complete? Does it meet my qualifications? If you have it do you regret buying it (assuming you have the other books to compare it too). What exactly is included in the book? Im assuming races, classes (templates) and spells. Does it include monsters? That's a real big pro for me if it does.

Anyway, looking forward to the replies.

I would recommend getting it simply so you don't have to haul the previous core books around. While it does have enough to get started playing a fantasy setting, it is not, and cannot (given page constraints) be as complete a coverage of the fantasy genre as Fantasy Hero.

It does not include discrete monsters AFAICT, although it contains templates that could be used to build (mostly humanoid) monsters. It also contains a complete magic system, but only a few spells. It contains equipment, but the lists in Fantasy Hero are, IMO, more useful.

In short, if your arms are getting tired, or if you are getting into fantasy gaming with the HERO System for the first time, then it is a good purchase. However, I would not recommend Fantasy HERO Complete as any sort of replacement for Fantasy HERO. YMMV.

I actually just ordered it last night so I'll have to wait and see I guess how it compares to the other books. Form and functionality are must haves when I look at my hero collection. The tomes, while impressive are just so freaking huge, if I have to sacrifice some indepth analysis for a game that is by and large, complete and very functional I'll take the slimmer version every time. Hopefully this gives me what I want.

I got my copy of the book yesterday. It's pretty good. Definitely has a nice way of wrapping the fantasy-ness over the hero system as a whole. It does have races and classes and monsters and all of that good stuff. I think it's a great book for running a game. The cover is REALLY strange though, like everyone is laughing.... by everyone I mean the hero, the dragon that is being faught, the creepy guy in the background. It's really weird lol.

Could you point me at the page where the monsters start? I seem to have missed that when looking. Unless you mean the racial templates?

The intent of the cover, according to Hero Games, is that the dragon is negotiating and trying to appear 'friendly', and everyone else is happy about all the gold. However, a lot of people, including myself, have had the same reaction you did; namely, that it's 'weird'.

I think it's kind of funny that the dragon is supposed to be negotiating... when the Heroine has her boot like holding down the dragon's neck. It's so crazy looking lol.
