D&D 5E Adding cantrips to paladin and ranger.

Hunter's mark shouldn't even be a spell, maybe Rangers instead should get at level 2 a Hunter's Mark feature which would take a bonus action to size up a seen for for their weaknesses, and then give the +1d6 damage to future attacks against that opponent, until another foe is sized up or a short or long rest passes, and no concentration required.

That's the solution I prefer.

Making it a cantrip feels complicated and wonky in comparison.

Has Mike or another dev responded or tweeted to the mark/hex issue?

Do we have any information on whether they're even aware of the objections against their implementation?

Give 2 cantrip a at level 1. Allow them to cast them 3 times per day.

I hate that Paladins and rangers don't feel magical at level 1.

Heh try playing a 2e paladin...i'm just now level 8 in our new campaign ...one more level to go until spells!
And the ranger got his spells at level 8!

Cantrips are only unlimited when something doesn't override them to make them limited.
True, but what I am suggesting is to reserve the term "cantrip" for unlimited spells.

One out of the two defining characteristics of cantrips in 5th edition as opposed to previous ones is how limitless they are.

Therefore I'm suggesting you add in level zero slots since that appears to be what you want.

This is my suggestion, anyway. I'm sure there are others.
