Only...not...'cause, yaknow, FATALITY on evocation magic two posts up stream. But that's ok. I hear Enchantment has some lovely spells. If you like that kind of thing.
And even if you aren't, Enchantment means you're one save away from liking them anyway.

Don't think I'd ever play a Necromancer, but they're good for campaign/world building. All those skeletons and zombies need to come from somewhere.

As for the Transmuter, what's the point of a Philosopher's Stone that doesn't make gold or even extend your lifespan?

Also, I was a bit surprised to see the Evoker already gone. They may not provide as much variety as some of the other schools, but they have a clear identity and fill it very well.

Conjuring is dangerous bizness...and one step away/leads to demands for Poke-class "summoners." Kill them with fire!

Who said that? Where'd he go?

Abjuration: just say no.

The necromancy misnomer has long bothered me. Actual necromancy belongs in divination, while reanimation should be enchantment or transmutation.

"I ABJURE YOU!"

"Geseundheit?"

"Uh, no. I'm an abjurer. I'm abjuring you."

"Okay. Wait, you're whating me? Like an abattoir? You're abattoiring me? That's not nice!"

"NO! I'm abjuring you! AB - JURE!"

"Is that like ... de facto is to de jure as ab facto is to ab jure as yacht is to regatta? Is this an analogy test? My friend @Manbearcat loves analogies!"

"No! I'm ab.... on, never mind. Screw it, Ima casting firebolt."

I subscribe to the Fight Club ethos of analogies. Self-improvement is masturbation. Self-destruction? Now you're talkin'.

So it isn't that I love analogies. Good analogies can be instructive and illuminating. We can't have that. Awful analogies that turn potentially well-reasoned arguments into utter abominations that can only be slaughtered by katana deployment?

Oh yes. Now you're talkin'.

Furthermore, all this abjure talk has me thinking. Tell me that doesn't sound french. Much like some folks want prescriptive roleplaying for Int 5, I think all Abjurers must smoke like a chimney, wear stripey shirts and suspenders, must have OUTRAGEOUS mustaches, and (like Hodor) can say nothing but "HUHN HUHN HUHN MON SHERI!"

Or you're a crappy roleplayer.

Fact.
