I think any forced physical transformation (wings, look like a dragon, whatever) is inherently goofy and is something I house rule out.

I voted wings. Your Celestial or Fiendish heritage starts to shine through and it becomes a physical manifestation of your bloodline. Just awesome and flavorful.

Plus it was originally part of the class and was one of the reasons I picked it. And yes, I did play to high enough levels where my character grew wings.

Why would anyone not want to fly if they can't already do so?

The wind in your face, the bugs in your teeth, the bewildered looks on Aladdin's and Jasmine's faces as you pass them by...

Good times.

The majority of sorcerer subclasses get some kind of advanced mobility option, it's one of their "things."

Are wings strictly necessary? No, but but they are fun and help reinforce the "magic in the blood" theme of the sorcerer.

So far wings in the lead with Purity and Choice tied at 4 votes, I'm not surprised that Purity is not popular.

I personally picked choice for corner cases where you already have permanent wings, but my second choice would have been wings by a mile, it simply fits the flavour of the class more.

But the rest of the new Favoured Soul is better then the old one.

I can't vote from my phone, and I'm not booting up my computer "just" to vote, but I vote wings.

Well, the thing about the wings is that you can use a bonus action to manifest them and put them away. They don't have to be out all the time. In addition, they don't have to be just angel wings or bat wings. They can be wings of metal, like Archangel from X-Men, or wings of energy like Tyrael from Diablo, They can be concentrated energy propulsion like Starfire from Teen Titans... really you can skin them as anything.

Also, while the resistance to poison damage, immunity to the poisoned condition, and immunity to disease is mechanically ok, I personally think in comparison it's a bit of a boring power. It doesn't increase your ability to do cool things, but rather just makes you a bit tougher in certain situations. Not a bad option, just not quite as sexy.

As for what you should get at level 14... I'm all about player choice. Mechanically, I see the two as being about on par with each other, so I voted that the player should be able to pick based on how they feel and what matches their character concept best.

Why not Zoidberg?

(Realistically, I like both features, I'd like to see both of them shoehorned in somehow. And I hate getting something cool like wings as a capstone, it needs to be received at least in the low teens so you can have some fun with them.)
