D&D 5E What class do you think you want to play but never actually play?

For me, it's warlock. Each time I get an idea I grab the PHB and sigh...no again. What class does that to you?

I used to think I could never like the druid. Then I reread the description in the AD&D2e PHB. It changes everything.

Any class, because I'm a ForeverDM.

I have a pet Paladin/Sorcerer multiclass character I want to play, and I'd love to resurrect my abortive investigator in the right campaign, but that's few and far between. He needs a campaign that's all mystery and a DM that can challenge me with the mysteries.

Bard. I love the idea of the class, and the 5e bard especially is a potential powerhouse. I've just never really come up with a concept that didn't work better with another class. I've finally created one for the first time since...2e?

Senza Libretto - Yuan-Ti Pureblood Bard (Lawful Evil), sent out with two other Yuan-Ti (a paladin and a druid) to investigate the Death Curse that has been denying the Yuan-Ti gods/patrons their supply of souls. Senza is kind of a political loyalty officer who is there to make sure the other Yuan-Ti remain loyal to their masters back home while they investigate the Death Curse in the jungles of Chult. His bardic inspiration frequently takes the form of threats and reminders of dire consequences if they fail in their duties. (He may have been sent on this mission because he annoyed a higher up in the Yuan-Ti hierarchy with his officious adherence to the letter of the law).

The other one is druid. I have yet to make one in 5e, only had a single druid character in 3e (Cletus, the half-orc pig farmer and his animal companion Percy the Boar.)

Rogue. I love them to pieces, but it seems like every time I have the opportunity to play, something else is a better fit for the party, or the campaign, or something.

Actually, it's fighter. Probably because it is so common, "oh typical fantasy fighter" that it doesn't intrigue me even though they are really, really good classes. I mean, its great to powergame probably, more abilities/feats, attacks, self-healing? But I'm just run and hit things guy. I like more options.

For 5E, it has to be the monk.

I really like the class concept, and I know that it's fairly balanced around the concept of having high Dex and Wisdom at the expense of Strength, but it just feels wrong to punch for 1d8+5 when I have a Strength of 8. Monks are supposed to be the physically strongest class, not the weakest.

Rogue. In theory, I really want to play it. But the few times I get to play, there’s always something else that grabs my attention.

I have a similar problem with the ROUGE. Every time that I look for it in the Player's Handbook I get caught up on the ROGUE. I know that alphabetically the ROUGE should come right after the ROGUE, but it seems to have been left out of my copy of the book.

Maybe I should return my copy to WotC and ask for an unedited version that includes a ROUGE. I wonder if WotC had to remove the ROUGE from the Player's Handbook for copyright reason, like what happened with the Melnibonean mythos in the original Deities&Demigods.

Can anybody please post a copy of the ROUGE for me, please? I have always wanted to play a character dedicated to the color red.
