Should I share my game world with you folks?

Should I share more of my world? Maps? Lore?

This is a really cool visual concept you have for the Stonewalls.
Do they get something like the Goliath's Stone's Endurance trait? It would make perfect sense to me.

They get a bonus to unarmored armor class due to having heavily calloused skin.
And perhaps a flat "1" Damage Reduction to all damage but Psychic, just because of their hard, calloused skin.

Interesting . . . Aside from the sub-race idea, they remind me of the Vahnatai from the Avernum computer game series, if the Vahnatai had died out.

If you're unfamiliar with the Vahnatai, they were basically seven-foot tall Roswell Grays that lived in the Underdark, were a precursor race to most every other humanoid life-form, wielded flambergs in battle, and channeled their memories and magical powers into crystals.

I have not heard of them, they sound really cool. I played maybe an hour of the first Avernum game, I went underground in the first area you go to, and went around the dungeon a bit. It seems really large.

They don't show up until the second game, although they are foreshadowed in the first game.

Whoops! I was mistaken. I haven't played Avernum yet. It was the Avadon: Black Fortress game that I played a bit of. However, I do own the Avernum series. I wound up getting a bunch of games like Avernum, Geneforge, and Avadon on a really good GOG.com sale.

I voted "heck no, garbage" just because I felt sorry for that category. It had no votes at all! Presumably because everyone else realized your ideas are actually pretty cool.

My answer is a bit of yes and no.

Please don't take this as a commentary on your creative skills but your description of the setting hasn't really done anything to hook me, or to peak my interest. So, just from your description I'd pass on getting a fuller description of it.

That said, there's really no harm in having other settings out there. I've enjoyed plucking odd bits from other settings before, especially when I'm running a game set in FR, or some other setting that I feel needs more spicing up.

I will echo the sentiment Inchoroi offered. If you plan to publish your setting, you'll want to be careful not to give the whole thing away with what you present here. Frequently, that can be easier said than done. So if I were you and were planning to publish the setting (even on a pay what want basis) I wouldn't present it here.

For those of you worrying if the content I have to share is professional quality - it is not at the moment.

This thread is to gauge interest. What I am doing to do to gauge this interest is starting a thread (this one), and explaining the pieces of my world. It may show art by me (I am no artist).

As of now I have some alpha sketches of some of the continents that will populate the planet. Unfortunately for me, I have lost some of my sketches. But it is okay, I have been recreating some from memory.

So far the outlook is good, the people who want to see it outweigh people who do not. I am hoping to get some more people interested and hoping to see some stuff. And by see, I mean just reading up on lore, looking at maps, learning about the world (in my current developmental state that is).

Publishing my world - that would be a goal I am not opposed to. My world would need significant interest in it before that becomes a feasible idea. So, as of now I will stick to advertising and showcasing pieces of my world, whether it's through art, lore, story, etc...

And if you like my work in the pre-alpha, alpha phases, let me know. Positive feedback is good fuel for a project.

Thanks to all who have/will check this out in interest of seeing what I have created.

P.S.

I forgot to mention another race for my world:
The Hurleans - a race of 4-armed humanoids. They are tall (6-8'). I personally picture them having some Atlantean influence. My first encounter with 4-armed beings would be the Mortal Kombat video game, with such characters as Goro, Kintaro, and Shiva. The Hurleans draw influences from the Shokan of Mortal Kombat and the Hekagigantes of Age of Mythology.

My question is, how many fingers and toes should they have? 3 fingers, 2 toes? 4 fingers (2 thumbs, one on each side), and 3 toes? Or the normal 5 fingers, 5 toes?

Depends how you want to publish it. Once I complete the setting documents for my two campaign settings, I plan on putting them on DM's Guild.

That has it's ups and downs.

Ups: People who are going to that website are going for D&D material.

Downs: WotC owns the material published, anyone can use material published on the DM's Guild in their own material on the DM's Guild.

It has been a while since I have posted in this thread. I'll show an alpha to a map.

IMG_20180403_211833.jpg

There is Tsutensang - a continent home to the Daegolith, Goblins, Kobolds, and Lizardfolk. The continent is mostly comprised of arid desert, Rocky mountains, or a large poisonous swamp (due to the mineral run down of iron & copper into the sea that used to be there. One map error - I forgot to add the mountainous region around the sea turned swamp.
Tsutensang is an area of moderate magic, allowing players to achieve up to 6th level spells and having 2 Attunement slots a character. The highest level of magical item obtainable goes to a max of Rare.
If anyone knows of good map creating software, feel free to list it below.
