- If steel is so rare on Krynn, how can they use it as currency?

Silver is special because it begins with S, just like Special; and Super; and Stupendous; and Superb; and Superior. It's an alliteration thing. The Silver Sword of Stupendous Strength gets ruined if you have to replace it with Antimony.

Gold is special because some yahoo with a gold mine convinced some idiots it was valuable. Some pretty metal that's easy to work. Some guy got a Nat 20 on his Bluff check, that's all.

Mithril is special because it rides the short bus too school (homage to South Park).

Lead is special because it is the primary component of the Secret Sauce.

Crystal Gayle is special because its frickin' CRYSTAL GAYLE. I mean if you can't see Crystal Gayle as the greatest singer of all time, then I'm afraid you're just incapable of appreciating music.

Deep Crystal is 12' deep, the deep end of Crystal's Pool.

Steel is used as money on Krynn so that when You have all your weapons taken from you when captured by &$%#*! Draconians for the $#@^&%! time and left in a &*%$*! Loincloth (again) you can hammer out a dagger off the Steel Pieces you find when you strangle a hobgoblin to death with said loincloth.

As for Adamantine. That's simple. It’s the preferred material for dwarven 'marital aids' (or is that MARTIAL aids), I can never remember which.

I need to change my sig,

If lead and most metals reduce magical properties, shouldn't it be that the heavier it is, and the more it can block radiation and such things, the more it can block magic. I don't know.

And what about diamonds. The hardest thing on earth, comparitivly. How do we measure, or do we measure things like diamond plate mail. I mean diamond isn't as heavy as lead, but it is super hard. Let me know.

Isn't titanium fairly light metal? Adamantine is supposed to be a fairly dense and heavy thing, that's why stuff made from it weighs so much more.

Adamantine is the lightest metal, but it is also the strongest and has the best edge stats, making it ideal for armor, bladed weapons, and crossbow bolts, but a poor choice for war hammers and other blunt weapons, where metals like lead and platinum are superior thanks to their density.

it's rarity. An upgraded form of Silver is Mythral, which the elves fashion well.

GOLD is the Blessed Metal of the Sun. Highly skilled weaponsmiths can make versions of this metal that are basically as functional as a steel weapon. Such blades hold heat well, and are said to be especially potent when used against water-based elemental creatures or oozes. It is especially potent when opposing the Metal of the Moon (silver), and is effective in piercing illusions and seeing truth in it's reflection.

“it’s” is a contraction of “it is”. “its” is a possessive pronoun.

Silver is an antimicrobial. Its toxicity to human cells is far lower than to bacteria. It has long been used to purify water and treat wounds. It is especially effective against lycanthropy. When you stab a lycantrop with a silver blade, you are causing the creature poison damage.
