Are people playing FATE playing D&D?

If not, (given the argument above) why not?
IME they're usually a buncha snobs who go on and on about how, because D&D has a lot of rules for combat and not as much rules for roleplaying (because apparently you need rules to roleplay) it's all just a bunch of big dumb fighting with no room for roleplay.
