Critical Role Wildemount has new subraces and reprints a ton of others

At least some of these races should be added to the PHB and this is more proof I'm right.
I don't necessarily think that this is really something that can be proven or disproved. The game scene, however, likely has seen a significant shift when it comes to "non-standard" ancestries/heritages/etc. For example, I suspect that if the half-orc was renamed the orc and placed in the PHB then barely anyone apart from a subset of grognards would be upset by this. This likely is because a lot of contemporary fantasy in other media (e.g., Elder Scrolls, Warcraft, Orcs & Men) has moved away from Gygaxian depictions.

Goblins should be in the 5.5e or 6e PHB, clearly.

If they're being reprinted that many times, they're really a core player race to too many settings to push off to splatbooks.

I'm wondering how many of these reprints are because Wildmount grew out of Critical Role games that would have played through the various splatbooks of 5e and players would have been like, "oo! shiny new race in this book!!"

Also, this is GREAT news for Core+1 games. I'm guessing they only got away with it because Wildmount in all likelyhood will NOT be AL-legal…

More interested in the dragonborn variants. Are they any less boring?
Draconblood (not a typo) variant - lose your resistance and ability score adjustments from dragonborn PHB. Gain Int +2, Chr +1, Darkvision, Once per SR you can make an intimidation or perception at advantage.

Ravenite - lose your resistance and ability score adjutments from dragonborn PHB. Gain Str +2, Con +1, Darkvision, Once per SR you can use a reaction to make an attack against something that just damaged you.

If you want to 'balance up' dragonborn in your game, I allow them to go through a ritual that gives them the sorcerer magic initiate feat.

Query: are Orcs reprinted with their VGtM stats or with their E:RFtLW stats or new stats altogether?

(Eberron hardcover's take on Orcs were strictly superior to Volo's, including dropping the Ability Score penalty and expanding the skill choice offered).

I like the alternate dragonborn options. At first I thought they took away the breath weapon as well as the resistance which would make them feel much less like dragons at that point but upon rereading that's not the case.

I do somewhat wish that genasi would get rebalanced at some point but with their third reprinting without changes that seems very unlikely at this point. I love the concept of them but their features are quite lackluster. Just comparing the fire genasi to the tiefling and you see that they are almost equivalent except the fire genasi doesn't get access to a second level spell. And fire is one of the better ones. Air and earth don't even get a resistance.
