D&D 5E Of Hearth and Home: Everyday Magic

dave2008

Legend
Inspired by recent thread necro (from 2012) Missing Domains?, by @Samloyal23, I came up with a little list of spells, sub-classes etc. that cover some of the magics of everyday life. Not something I would necessarily use in my game, but a topic I do find interesting as a world building exercise. In a magic world, what everyday magic would be available to make like easier for the home maker, the farmer, the merchant, etc.

In the linked thread the OP wanted more spells/magic on the following: Beauty (the idea of aesthetic value); Motherhood (spells to make being a mother easier); Fertility (spells to promote the richness of the land and the fecundity of plants, animals, and people); Love (spells to bring people together, not just romantically)

I would like to explore beyond that list, so far this is what I have come up with (please let me know if you have more ideas):

Beauty (the idea of aesthetic value)
Clerics of Lesser Domains (5e-DMsGuild) - includes the Beauty Domain

Hearth & Parenthood (spells to make domestic life easier)
5e Cleric Domain: Hearth
Divine Domain: Hearth
Home, Hearth, and a lot of Yarn - witch subclass?
Cleric Domain: Hearth (5e-DmsGuild)
A Day of Mothers - spells for mothers (5e)
Archtypes of Eberron (5e-DMsGuild) - includes the hearth domain

Fertility (spells to promote the richness of the land and the fecundity of plants, animals, and people)
Circle of the Land - Druid Circle (WotC)
Fertility Domain (5e-DmsGuild)
Fertility Domain (also 5e-DmsGuild)
Pregnancy Rules (5e-DMsGuild)
Circle of Life

Love (spells to bring people together, not just romantically)
Love Domain (5e-DmsGuild)
Love: A cleric Domain (5e-DMsGuild)
Divine Domain: Passion Cleric (5e-DMsGuild)
Unity Domain - UA replacement to the Love Domain
Book of Domains (5e-DmsGuild) - love & poetry domains
Charity Domain

Craft/Construction (help for the artisans)
Cleric Domain - Construction
The Craft Domain (5e DMsGuild)
New Cleric Domian: Craft (5e DMsGuild)
Brewers Domain (5e DMsGuild)

Misc.
Everyday Rituals (5e-DMsGuild)
Everday Magic (5e DnD Beyond) - house rules
Everyday Magic - A collection of everyday spells, covers several of the topics above
Hidden Oddities: A Witch's Primer (5e-DriveThruRPG)
Hedges & Highways (5e-DMsGuild)
Hedges Herbal Handbook (5e-DMsGuild)
Other Magic (zine on folk magic)

If you are just talking domains, construction and crafting come to mind.

We have Forge, sure, but what weavers, cobblers, bakers? Barn Raising is a huge endeavor, one that seems like it could have some ritual to it in the right setting.

I am not just talking about domains, but I agree, those could be added. Do you know of any hombrew / 3PP attempts?

No, I generally don't go looking for homebrew stuff unless I have a fairly solid idea of what I want.

So, I've found a lot of crafting system stuff, but nothing magical I can think of off the top of my head

Good stuff. Not everything in the game has to be of use to players. If magic is a real force in the world, it will be used for real things and in real ways, not just for adventuring.
It does depend a bit on how pervasive magic is in your world. In my world, magic is very rare and mostly a heavily guarded secret. It is not an "everyday" thing. However, I still find the idea interesting and worth exploring.
