Thank you.

Yes I believe WotC in the simple statement that "most PCs do not have Feats", and yes you point out the key fallacies I've heard repeated many times, often with it being claimed WotC literally said that.

We don't know the exact details: but we do know the independent data points of "most people don't use Feats" and "70% approval is the threshold for publishing an option." Tough to get 70% approval for an option being used by a third of players.

Thank you everybody, for the reminder why I no longer come to this site for discussions. There are 25 pages of arguing about points that has nothing to do with the subject that started the thread. I would like nothing more than discuss the new sub-classes, what they can do, how they work, and ideas about how to play them, but it is evident that is not possible here.

Yeah, maybe, but then we have to count on them to actually DO that, and actually put them all in there. And I'm just not sure I trust WotC to do that. I'm not sure I trust them to do Half-Giant at all, for example (Goliath is not a good match). Oh well, homebrew based on extant races is easy via Beyond these days.

Mearls actually made a full on Half-Giant prototype for D&D Live a while back, here's the stat sheet and a picture of him looking over the Goliath Barbarian Grog Strongjaw:

With respect, the discussion on this thread has been focused on psionics and some of the broader topics that surround possible implementation of psionics in 5e. There was nothing in the OP suggesting a focus on character building around the UA material.

Isn't that just a bear totem barbarian?

Of course, a Psionic barbarian is a neat idea. Could be using their psionic talents to just block sensations of pain from getting to the brain. Could stop you from taking certain amounts of damage (like 5 or less or something) until your rage ends, when you get hit with it all at once.
In our group, we ruled that you could not use your Mystic Power while the Barb Wass raging, just not enough mental control due to the rage.

I fully empathize with you. It's the biggest drawback of this site by far. (A simple mod message to take related discussion to a new thread would have been sooo simple...)
