Or they could just set it before the story of the last theros card set, they seemed to have done that with Ravnica. So Heliod isn't imprisoned in the underworld because that hasn't happened in the metastory of the dnd setting and Thassa still has her bident.

You probably right. I have the book preordered on DnDBeyond but I haven't kept up with all the news about it.

You should remember WotC could publish new worlds, for example ersatzs of Legend of the five rings and Dark Sun.

A Wuxia/Wulin world should arrive after the psionic powers, and at least with playtesting of the martial maneuvers. My opinion is Tome of Battle: Book of the Nine Swords will come back to be used with Oriental Adventures.

Ilkoria has got a special game mechanic, and a d20 version of the "monster pets" needs time, and at least a year of Unearthed Arcana preview. I think Hasbro wants a D&D version of collectable monster franchise (Pokemon, Digimon and like this).

Innistral is possible, but there are many fans who miss Ravenloft. Then we would see a "Heroes of Horror" without links with a setting, a group of modules of Ravenloft, and a guide about Innistrad. Later we would hear some news about media projects, maybe some videogame or teleserie. Let's remember the anime Castlevania in Netflix.

Kaladesh is a world with machines and technology. This needs a lot of playtesting about vehicles and (magic version of?) firearms.

Thassa lost her Bident before this set, but the God of the Forged created a new one for her.

I haven't see where he said that, I'll check his Twitter, but I do know that there is stuff, like a Mythic Spider Monster that is from Theros Beyond Death in the book, so I wouldn't be surprised.

I think maybe in a hypothetical Zendikar setting book, although the Eldrazi Titans are either dead or in Innistrad right now.

It occurs to me that a solution to the Ravenloft vs Innistrad issue that fits 5e's style is a horror themed book that explores both settings, plus generical horror tropes. Heck maybe even throw New Phrexia in there as well. I mean

I don't really think Phyrexia fits, as that's not really on theme with the Gothic Horror of Ravenloft and Innistrad. But yes the other two do mesh together pretty well.

I do find it hard to imagine the two truly sharing a book, beyond the fairly normal sidebars of "How to put this is in this setting." But if two settings are ever to really share a book, it's Innistrad and Ravenloft.
