The date has moved from Nov 19 2021 to May 27 2022. So from ages away to ages away!

Interesting, that's actually a "better" date than previously, and only a few months difference. We'll see how that pans out.

Also interesting that the reports seem fairly confident on the directing and writing team. This is probably pretty far along in pre-production now...

"No casting has been announced, but Paramount is reportedly looking for an A-list star to play the lead role, and become the face of a possible movie franchise"

I'm hoping for Alexandra Daddario as the lead, she is funny, but can also do drama, and horror, plus she has experience in this genre.

Other actors I'd like to see, Zoe Saldena is great too and so is Chris Pratt.

Milas Kunis is great.

Can't go wrong with the Rock. I liked Zac Efferon way, way more then I expected in Baywatch.

Robert Downie Junior as Elminster would he fun.

i will disagree with your choice of cast. I hope they stay away from big names and focus on people that can act.

This has been in the works for a long time; since talk about a Forgotten Realms TV series in 2002. Then the Sci-Fi movies came out which weren't terrible but werent good either. Pretty sure the first one replaced the FR series and was supposed to be a sequel to the 2000 abomination. Im glad the FR series was never made, it would have been Xena and Hercules meets Drizzt and Elminster. Not to mention the effects just weren't there nor the demand to warrant a large budget. Im hoping this is good when it finally gets off the ground but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes through another incarnation and end up on a streaming service.

I hope they stay away from big names and focus on people that can act.

Christopher Walken as a Copper Dragon or Gary Busey as a living area of wild magic and Im sold.

Just put it into the believe it when I see it category.

2019 wasn't good to Paramount IIRC I doubt this year will be much better. Top Gun I think is their next "big" movie.
