Thoughts on these Fighting styles to mimic warriors for nonEuropean areas

Shield Guard
While you are not wearing any armor, your Armor Class equals 14 + your Dexterity modifier. You wield a shield with a length at least half your height to gain this benefit.

Simple Weapon Fighting
When you are attacking with a simple melee weapon, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with that weapon.

Agile Fighting
While you aren’t wearing medium or heavy armor, gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls you make with light weapons.

Anything written by that particular author is for the trashcan by default.

The author raised valid point.

A big part of gaming was messed up in the 90s and earlier.
There was this two conflicted mindsets. of "I can make content heavily tilted for one group" and "Why won't other groups buy my stuff." D&D and other gaming companies attempts to attract people from other cultures outside of their first audience was terrible for decades.

Heretic of The Seventh Circle
Gee it is in their race Dragonborn. Maybe they have a good reputation in Waterdeep but you get out into the far woods of Slapout, they be funny looking yankees who want to steal our women, hub caps and I bet they are Ga Bull dog fans.
So what?
No one is gonna look at a Dragonborn and think they’re a dragon. It just isn’t gonna happen.
And the reaction you describe is the same for other humans, and not nearly as common as media would have you believe. Even where it is common, it doesn’t often get violent outside of a few really bad places, and the social and economic structures that create that strong a level of xenophobia are only in place in a fantasy world if you choose to include them. In the Forgotten Realms, canonically, that kind of xenophobia is quite rare outside of a few nations that mark the exception.

I plan on building a traditional long house later in life.
When a friend of mine, who happens to be an architect, was still in the design phase for his families new house, and we were talking about different kitch styles, I suggest he should just build a longhouse and put a fire pit in the middle of the room, like our anscenstor did. I could not convince him :(
People are innately connected to and identify with the history of their peoples and countries. Even Americans (especially Americans)! It's not about "harming" long dead people (and I think you know that), it's about respecting living people and their heritage.
It's a safe bet the majority of people in any given country has no knowledge about their heritage that goes much deeper than the general popculture version of it.

It isn't a medieval setting:

It's a fantasy setting with medieval trappings.

A few medieval trappings, but not as many as some folks think, some people treat FR like it's a simulation of midieval times, but with more magic, but it's not, people really underestimate the extent of Southern European, Middle Eastern and Far Eastern Influences on the Forgotten Realms honestly.

I like how you put it, it's a fantasy setting with Mideival Trappings.

Americans are destroying their history and culture one statue at all time. Of course I'm Canadian, so I have no cultural connection to any of that stuff.
