Has anyone else watched The Asylums “Sinister Squad”?

I think it has the distinction of having a better plot and more interesting characters than the Suicide Squad movie it was supposed to parody.

Man of Steel and Batman v. Superman are legit two of the worst movies I have ever seen. And I cut my teeth on some MST3K material.

I expect it will make it will have the same mistakes BvS and MoS had. As flawed as the Whedon cut of JL was at least it made different mistakes.

I’m looking forward to it. But I know better than to try to talk about that in public, so I’ll leave the thread to it’s inevitable course.
Same

the Snyders are now in the midst of reassembling much of their original post production crew to score, cut, add new and finish old visual effects, and, yes, maybe bring back many of the actors to record additional dialogue.

So,it may be a wholly different movie than what we got (if that makes any sense)

Which implies that the mythical "Snyder Cut" didn't actually exist, or that this "Snyder Cut" is different than the one that did exist. I'm going with the first.

It'll be worth seeing, to see if there's any improvement.

I'll bet it existed, just not in a finished form. "Editing" isn't a one time event, and it isn't the last step in making the movie. A lot of the time I've seen pre-release cuts of something, its 90% done, but will have things like incomplete/missing CGI, sounds errors (missing music, SFX, of incorrect dialogue), or even partially missing cuts (like a screen that just says "External shot" or "Reaction shot").

The price tag sounds a little high for that, not to mention the stated run time is well beyond anything that would have even been considered for theatrical release.

EDIT Forget what I said about cost. It was a $300M movie, so that's less than 10%.

It should be interesting to see. Snyder has his moments, not many of them, but he has his moments.

I really loved the scene after Doomsday downs the Batplane and Wonder Woman shows up in BvsS for example. The timing, the music, the action was just about perfect in my opinion.

On the otherhand, I can't say the movie itself was anything close to perfect. Snyder sometimes tends to have movies that drag on a bit. In that light, I will be surprised if the Snyder cut ends up equal or shorter than the Theatrical JL release.

I'm slightly curious to see what he does with it. If it turns into a completely different movie, it could be worthwhile to have it AND the theatrical JL releases to watch.

However, I enjoyed the JL theatrical release more than MoS or BvsS overall. Some of that has to do with Danny Elfman though. (PS: Though Junkie XL did a decent job, and I absolutely love the Wonder Woman theme...I'm an avid Elfman fan).

There's some speculation as to the length of the film. For example The Hollywood Reporter's story says, "HBO Max will debut the project in 2021 — possibly in a four-hour director's cut or in six TV-style "chapters" — as the helmer gets the gang back together with the original postproduction crew to score, cut and finish visual effects."

"Whedon essentially did half of a new movie in less than 5 months "
