WHAT WONDERFUL WITCHERY IS THIS?

A magical mixture of rules options for the world's greatest roleplaying game.

The wizard Tasha, whose great works include the spell Tasha’s hideous laughter, has gathered bits and bobs of precious lore during her illustrious career as an adventurer. Her enemies wouldn’t want these treasured secrets scattered across the multiverse, so in defiance, she has collected and codified these tidbits for the enrichment of all.
  • EXPANDED SUBCLASSES. Try out subclass options for every Dungeons & Dragons class, including the artificer, which appears in the book.
  • MORE CHARACTER OPTIONS. Delve into a collection of new class features and new feats, and customize your character’s origin using straightforward rules for modifying a character’s racial traits.
  • INTRODUCING GROUP PATRONS. Whether you're part of the same criminal syndicate or working for an ancient dragon, each group patron option comes with its own perks and types of assignments.
  • SPELLS, ARTIFACTS & MAGIC TATTOOS. Discover more spells, as well as magic tattoos, artifacts, and other magic items for your campaign.
  • EXPANDED RULES OPTIONS. Try out rules for sidekicks, supernatural environments, natural hazards, and parleying with monsters, and gain guidance on running a session zero.
  • A PLETHORA OF PUZZLES. Ready to be dropped into any D&D adventure, puzzles of varied difficulty await your adventurers, complete with traps and guidance on using the puzzles in a campaign.
Full of expanded content for players and Dungeon Masters alike, this book is a great addition to the Player's Handbook and the Dungeon Master’s Guide. Baked in you'll find more rule options for all the character classes in the Player's Handbook, including more subclass options. Thrown in for good measure is the artificer class, a master of magical invention. And this witch's brew wouldn't be complete without a dash of added artifacts, spellbook options, spells for both player characters and monsters, magical tattoos, group patrons, and other tasty goodies.

@WotC please, for humanity’s sake, please leak some new details about Tasha’s to get us back on topic.

Well uhhhh... I mean we could talk again about how despite some people thinking it didn't count/wouldn't be brought up, we DO have some confirmation via those various articles that we are indeed gonna have the whole Tasha = Iggwilv thing cemented? The odd thing is that the material so far makes her seem... while I wouldn't say "fluffy" or friendly per se in her Tasha guise (one can only be so shinyhappyfaeriedust if they were raised by the Baba Yaga after all), definitely more approachable and less sinister than she would be as Igg. But they've got at least SOMETHING about her double life in there - variant cover, image of the Demonomicon and outright statements in text bear that all out.

Since she's gonna be primarily offering commentary in the margins, a la Xanathar, in terms of giving the book flavor, does anyone have any predictions for how they'll address her "other side" in the text?

I'm guessing that the initial writing of the the book will predate her Iggwilv years, but it's possible that Iggwilv will have some commentary added in latter on.

I doubt the book will go into the lore of Tasha/Iggwilv, Graz'zt, Iuz, etc much, but it does set us up for another cool non-AL Greyhawk adventure book next year, if they so choose to make one.

Usually there's some ties between the adventure paths and the published books (for example, Volo showed up in Tomb of Annihilation, published a year after his Guild to Monsters was published).

We still use it in our 5e game, but now it really means your bloody.
Yeah, we still use it. But then I also adapted Morale checks from 2e for use as a DC for intimidation checks and monster retreats and the bloodied condition is a great marker for a morale check. Advantage while the leader is unbloodied, disadvantage if the leader is killed, and then just roll with +2 if your allies outnumber your enemies and -2 if faced with magic.

The controversy on whether it's the Psionic Soul Sorcerer or the Aberrant Mind Sorcerer, I think we've got different sources saying different things.

Personally I liked it better when it was the Aberrant Mind, as I felt the subclass lost a lot of its flavourful appeal as the Psionic Soul.

I dunno. That chicken foot brand/tattoo on her cheek doesn't exactly scream "kindergarten teacher" to me.

We clearly know very different people lol. I have far too many friends who are covered head to toe in more ominous tattoos who are basically stuffed animals in human form.

Then again, I also have multiple locations on my face rammed through with metal so... everyone's mileage may vary I guess?
