Looks pretty good to me. I'll take ornithopters that look like dragonflies instead of birds. At least they're winged. Momoa seems to be a good choice, as does Zendaya. Can't remember seeing the lead in anything before but seems a good choice from what I can see here. But please, gods please, no "weirding modules."

Been a fan of Momoa since Stargate Atlantis.

Yeah I want to see this, will pony up the money.

I haven't watched David Lynch's classic in ages, but I have fond memories of playing Dune II. Never watched the more recent TV miniseries version. Have read the book. Color me somewhat excited. I like Oscar Isaac.

Have seen the lead's name here and there but I don't think I've actually seen him in anything. Is he French? Looks like a worthy successor to Kyle MacLachlan. And Zendaya as successor to Sean Young is OK in my book. I wonder who they've got playing Sting's character. Is Jason Momoa playing Patrick Stewart's character?

I understand this is only going to cover the first half of the book, and they are hoping to make a sequel to finish it up (though it hasn't been green-lit yet).

This really is an all star cast, and it is looking good so far. I'm cautiously optimistic. While David Lynch's classic has a fond place in my heart, it is also a bit of a trainwreck, so I am eager to see a proper attempt at bringing this epic to the silver screen.

One of the biggest problems that Lynch's Dune had, was that it was trying to fit a story that requires multiple films, into one. I liked the soundtrack, cast and production design though. Hopefully they will not make that same mistake again. This needs more than one film. This new film is also an excellent opportunity to be more accurate to the book.
Hopefully this new film will make us all forget about David Lynch's version.

There have been other attempts of course, in the form of mini series, but Dune is one of those sagas that requires a big budget and a lot of care. It is not easy to adapt. Then again, that's what people said of Lord of the Rings for a very long time. Will this be the new LotR?

My fear is it's actually good but due to Covid makes no money and we don't get part 2.

Timotheé Chalamet has done some great films. Have no fear, he’ll play the Paul Artreides well.

Great to see the trailer finally, the still shots that were leaked a while back looked great.

I have to say, I'm not too impressed. The visuals are good, and the lead lookd a better fit as Paul than the dude from the TV series was anyway.

But it also looks like they tried to make it an action movie, which I don't feel will work. It's the approach that sunk the Dark Tower; I worry it will sink Dune, as well. And the Pink Floyd at the end was just galling.

That said, this is only the first trailer, and the visuals work really well. I'm willing to see where it goes.

I watched the trailer five times yesterday and then watched Lynch's Dune for good measure after my wife went to sleep. Needless to say, I am excited for the new Dune. The cast looks great.

If I had to sum up the trailer in one word, it would be: stately. I'm fine with that aesthetic. Going for, ahem, baroque like Lynch did would not have been wise. I'm even okay with the oddball choice of Pink Floyd.
