I'm glad they are finishing with Messiah, specially if they incorporate smidgeon of stuff from Children. Dune and Messiah are story about Paul, his rise to power and his end. Children are last novel in series that can be made into movie. God Emperor and onwards, it's to much philosophy ramblings and acid tripping it's too much.

I've seen some artwork by HR Giger and Moebius for that movie (and i'm big fan of both of them). It would be visually stunning, but Jodorowsky's vision was more in taking basic premise and then transforming it into movie version of LSD trip.

I think the temptation to see Rakkis as an ocean world in the far future will mean someone will eventually tackle the last three books in some form.

Jodorowsky could have done it (which doesn't mean that it would have been good, but at least interesting ...).

Basically, it’s more suited to over the top camp than the current more grounded take.

The last three books get an unfair rap, IMO, especially once the diaspora starts coming back and we see how humanity has changed in the interim.
