Composition Tools Inaccessible

An update in the last few days (forum or Windows, I don't know) has rendered the composition tools (bold, insert image, emoji, etc.) inaccessible to my Seamonkey (Mozilla) browser. They seem to work fine with Microsoft Edge :geek: Is there a setting I need to change in Seamonkey? It tells me that no updates are available.

I've never even heard of Seamonkey, but we haven't changed or updated anything here recently. There is a big Xenforo upgrade coming soon, but it's not out yet.

Unfortunately the trend of sites breaking for Mozilla users is accelerating. This is in no small part caused by Microsoft conceding defeat and moving their Edge browser to use the Chromium engine.

Since this leaves only Firefox (~7% market share) and Safari (~3% market share) as notable non-Chromium browsers, I see more and more sites not bothering to test properly for other browsers than Chrome and Edge.

Note: I'm not accusing EN World of anything here. I am however suggesting that Xenforo, the forum software used by the site, might exhibit more bugs if you don't use Chrome/Edge.

When Mozilla decided to stop developing their Application Suite fifteen years ago in favor of specific applications Firefox (web) and Thunderbird (e-mail), the development of the in-suite browser were continued under the new name SeaMonkey as an open-source community project.

It's listed in spot 33 out of 41 entries over at Netmarketshare (desktop+mobile). Every entry from #20 onwards has a market share of less than 0.01%...

The Toggle BB code button (that switches between a more Word-like interface and a "pure code" editor) existed before the update. If you were in "code mode" that would totally explain your lack of formatting controls. In that mode you would enter actual bbcodes to format your posts.

It did change icon, though. Before 2.2 the Toggle BB code button used a cog wheel icon, now it's square brackets icon. Likely because its function has nothing to do with "settings", what the cog wheel icon is commonly associated with, especially on mobile.
