D&D 5E Two New D&D Books Revealed: Feywild & Strixhaven Mage School

Amazon has revealed the next two D&D hardcovers! The Wild Beyond the Witchlight is a feywild adventure due in September, and Curriculum of Chaos is a Magic: the Gathering setting of Strixhaven, which looks like a Harry Potter-esque mage school, set for November.

The Wild Beyond the Witchlight is D&D's next big adventure storyline that brings the wicked whimsy of the Feywild to fifth edition for the first time.

The recent Unearthed Arcana, Folk of the Feywild, contained the fairy, hobgoblin of the Feywild, owlfolk, and rabbitfolk. UA is usually a good preview of what's in upcoming D&D books.

Curriculum of Chaos is an upcoming D&D release set in the Magic: The Gathering world of Strixhaven -- a brand new MtG set only just launched.

Strixhaven is a school of mages on the plane of Arcavios, an elite university with five rival colleges founded by dragons: Silverquill (eloquence), Prismari (elemental arts), Witherbloom (life and death), Lorehold (archaeomancy), and Quandrix (numeromancy). Actually it's unofficial, it's something James Wyatt and his daughter did on their own time, unpaved, with WotC's permission. It's popularity lead to official MtG setting books, Ravnica, Theros, and now Strixhaven.

On the DM's Guild they're listed as "from Wizards of the Coast" and they were originally on the official website
What more does it take to be "official?"

Official homebrew maybe, but I can't roll up to an AL game with a Kor character. Hell, it's not even on DnDBeyond*, which offers such unofficial content as the Blood Hunter.

*I'm aware that Beyond is neither owned nor operated by WotC.

In this youtube clip, Ray Winninger, the Executive Producer for D&D, explicitly mentions three classic settings coming back, "in the next year or two".

He could also have misspoken since he wasn't going of a script and said "year or two" rather than "next few years"

Yes you can for the Eberron subset of AL.

The Planeshifts are no more official then the UAs are, they are functionally experimental projects, hence why you can't do dmsguild products for Zendilar, Kaladesh, or Dominaria, but you can for Theros and Ravnica.

However, I think all of those Rave options were Magic the Gathering related, as they were off-flavor for D&D: Magic Fairies, not D&D Fairies, the "Hobgoblins" feel like a completely different thing, and there are Rabnitfolk in Magic. Given how many kinds of anthropomorphic animals we had in Strixhaven, I think we'll see rules for doing a wider variety than tested here (they don't need to test how to do a Bearfolk at this point in the Edition, methinks).
