Not trying to drag you or by linking that, just thought you'd be interested since a lot of discussion on this topic happened in that thread.

Your article is actually older, interestingly. And as far as I can tell has no citations or sources, so no wonder it didn't gain traction.

Wizards of the Coast also noted that sales of their introductory Boxed Sets (which can be found in mainstream retail stores like Target and Wal-Mart) have grown by 300% year over year, and that over 4.3 billion minutes of D&D content has been viewed on Twitch. Viewership of D&D programs has also increased by 65% on YouTube compared to previous years.

That bit is news to me. Or at least the specific statistics are.

Your article is actually older, interestingly.
That's because it's last's year's (2020's) article with stats for 2019, which I covered a year ago here (in April 2020):

Your link is 2021's equivalent, the more recent article with up to date stats.

@Ancalagon the reason you can't find it is because it's about 2019 and you have to scroll back over a year! But the other link above from @Rikka66 has 2021's stats for 2020.

Is there a stat that shows what the age breakdown is for gamers in general? 40% is not significant, if 40% of ALL RPG gamers are 25 or under.

I would expect players of other RPGs to be older but their numbers are so few that it wouldn't have much impact on the overall breakdown.
