D&D 5E New WotC Survey! Learn About A New D&D Product!

I’d assume we’re allowed to talk about the rest of the survey before the secret new product. I got some basic rules questions, which I assume were there to screen out people who don’t actually play D&D messing up the results, which makes sense, but felt a little like being grilled to prove I’m not a “fake gamer girl” 🤣

Lots of questions about satisfaction with the races and race features in the PHB, which reminded me very much of the Next Playtest surveys. I was a skeptic that there would be any edition change or major revisions to 5e in the near future for a while, but at this point I think the writing is on the wall.

As for the super secret new product, I’ll refrain from talking about it. But I’m not pleased with it. I think I may be getting old.

I answered a bunch of racial questions. I had to put N/A/don't know on the gnome stuff because I have barely looked at gnomes and nobody I know uses one.

Then we got to the secret squirrel part, I watched the very slowly narrated video, said I could understand it, and then got booted out with no questions about it. The one I got made it look like the guys at DND Beyond aren't going to be happy unless they are getting acquired.
I wish I had the chance to tell them "No, I'm not interested."

It is pretty funny how most people on this thread all know what the secret thing is, and are talking to each other about how we feel about the secret thing, without actually saying the name of the secret thing...

Would be hilarious if we all actually did get completely different videos!

I'm ok with dwarves and drow having darkvision. I'm pretty strict though that seeing stuff in black-and-white isn't exactly like waking around in the day.

Yeah, and all the variations over the years. Nightvision, Infravision, Darkvision, Low-light vision. I would rather bring back infravision and seeing heat signatures in the dark, than using a vision type that allows any kind of normal sight in full darkness.
