D&D General Eureka Co-Creator Working on Live-Action Dungeons & Dragons TV Series

Hire these folks to do the TV series. They did a better job than the last batch that made that awful movie.

Is this just more about the one already announced that is something like 8-10 episodes and set in the Underdark?

You know, I hope they don't use the cartoon characters in any new remakes. I don't think my brain will allow me to enjoy anyone else but Peter Cullen as Venger. They'd have to do what the Transformers movies did and use the same voice actors. We'll, at least Cullen. I'm less worried about the others.

I hope it is a live action reboot of the 80s cartoon but with a cast of diverse millenials and Dungeon Master played by Ed O'Neil.

I never realized I wanted anything more than Ed O'neil as a crotchety DM.

While ComicBook is taking a very old-school approach, it's rather clear that these aren't the same TV project. Kolstad wrote/developed one and now Andrew Cosby is talking about writing/developing something different.

Considering WotC leadership has said eOne is working on multiple streaming shows it's much more likely that we've now gotten tiny snippets on two different projects.
Neither may ever be filmed, because that's how Hollywood works.

More seriously: is it possible that in addition to a fairly typical D&D show, there is something more meta and Knights of the Dinner Table-like in the works. I might actually be more inclined to watch a half hour comedy about the trials and tribulations of a gaming group than I would an earnest hour long Witcher wannabee.

Someone can just make a supercut of all the D&D play scenes from Big Bang Theory and Stranger Things and then we can avoid a whole series like that. A single episode would be more than enough. lol

I dunno - as you say Big Bang Theory certainly works. And something more like Dork Tower with an IT Crowd vibe would be a lot of fun. KotDT tends to only be around that table most of the time, right? It's been a LOOOONG time since I read any of them. But, I have read Dork Tower off and on, and he's expanded out from just stuff at the game table and more into the lives of the gamers.

Dunno if that idea has legs or not, but, it might be fun. What's that youtube series, Viva Dirt League? They're pretty funny.
