I enjoyed saying I prefer playing MAGIC with physical cards so that everyone has access to the same cards, which is how we always played among friends. I still have enough pre-2000 cards for like 10 people to have fun making decent decks and then we all get to play!
Please tell me you have a cube. n_n

I took the chance to tell them it is time for 6e.

Also that 6e needs to use the NEW 5e rules (bounded accuracy, advantage) and ideas (tasha's rules and new idea of setting restarts) mixed with 4e's martial classes (especially warlord) and some old school 2e hold backs on spells (like age a year on haste)

I assume that being in my 40's and having not played magic in 20 years means they will not give my thoughts much weight though...

I did too but called it 5.5 & grumbled about other things like 5e's several year frozen at birth ruleset being long overdue in development & the stuff 5e killed questing for simplicity

You collect a number of cards in multiples of 180, sort them into groups -packs- of 15 and you basically draft or do sealed with them as if they were sealed booster packs. There are even resealable envelopes you can buy to make the pack packs for real. Typically you have 360 or 540 cards and there is only one of each in the cube.
