Hiya!

Eh...not doing it for me. That said, it might be one of those 'kids shows' that actually has some subtle adult humour. Or it could, at least. Stuff that would go over most of their target demographics heads, but adults would catch it. You know, stuff like the classic "Is that a banana in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me"? kind of thing. Could be more enjoyable for the older crowd then...maybe.

It kind of looks like a videogame. I am not the target audience, but it looks fun. And I like how He-man is now just part of a team of youngsters who seem on equal footing. I could see this appealing to kids, plus the action looks really good too.
I do like how it is potentially expanding the "power fantasy" of He-Man to other characters.

That was part of the new She-Ra as well. "She-Ra and the Princesses of Power" - each princess had pretty cool powers, but they needed to be work together. But She-Ra was different - not a princess and with a very different source and set of abilities.

Interestingly, it's always been in the He-Man name. "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe". Masters, plural.

A WAG (wild a...pple guess) I have is that Revelations was a vanity project that fit into the push with the IP (Cortex getting the license is part as well), and this He-Man is a reaction to how well She-Ra went as well as tied in to the IP push.

That makes sense though. Kids grow up on videogames now, so that style would be appealing to them.

One series is written for adults who grew up with the original Filmation series and meant to be a spiritual sequel of sorts. This one is a new, updated take on the franchise aimed at selling toys to young kids.
More like that one was written with adult fans who kept up with the expanded universe and for whom this concept never really went away. The adults who grew up with the series seemed to be expecting something more like a third season of the Filmation series, except with more action and less censorship but otherwise unchanged.

Yeah, I thought one of the more interesting ways to deal with the gap in time between the period these things came out that people are nostalgic for, and the present moment, was done by Cobra Kai, with the original actors now middle-aged and dealing with all those issues and a new bunch of kids doing the karate thing. But that of course involves actual people who get older; He-Man never has to get any older than you write him. (I never quite understood how comic books deal with Batman being around since the 30s...)

I'm still amazed Bart and Lisa Simpson are still in school.
