Unfortunately it will also take off the ACTUAL lines on the map. So again, try a small spot first.

I had a friend who worked at a sponge factory and used to bring me boxes of Mr Clean Magic erasers. As I said Im going to try the suggestions but I think these lines are now one with the mats. Hopefully I get lucky.

Think beer would work better...trust me, Ive used the latter. Spic and Span depending on the scum youre looking to get rid of.

Tried the 1:10 bleach mix and it didn't do much of anything. I was reading on one mat on Amazon as I was looking for other options than Chessex and they specifically recommended cleaning them no later than 3 or 4 hours after applying the wet erase markers.

At least it was just a river. One of my players likes to absent-mindedly doodle on the battlemat while we are playing, and he drew...well, suffice to say, it was a very well-endowed river.

Blue something or the other. Right across the center of the map. It took us most of 2 sessions to complete the scenario in question, so by the time we figured it out, the ink was well and truly dried.
