WBtWL looks to be just enough whimsy for me, but I can see it pushing past a lot of people's whimsy threshold. The carnival itself is maybe about as whimsical an event horizon as I can stand. The glory of this adventure is that whimsy is contained in Domain (other than the Carnival) so I can have a palate cleanse of a gritty campaign afterward.

I'm wondering if this is more whimsy than I want / use in my games.......

Or potentially that wimsy could turn terrible on a dime or even unnoticed until it’s too late.
There are evil fey in i after all.

Thats why its great that they’ve embedded the rules in an adventure module - it’s all entirely optional, not core rules, so you get to do things on your own whim …

I know that fairies went all the way up to human size in folklore but the halfling-sized fairies feel like a lame cop-out to me. The 4e tiny pixies were a little awkward mechanically but they were so much cooler as an option than giant gnome fairies.
Regarding Shakespeare, I will flavor the fairies as appearing like human youths, whose Small size is because of being young children. But there will also be teenagers upto age 19 who are Medium size. Then their Enlarge/Reduce feature becomes perfect.

Table of contents+preview of a number of magical items you can find. If you care about spoilers in regards to locations, then don't click on the link. But I'll admit that I personally find the name of the final area intriguing.

Note not all the stat blocks are at the end of the book.

I wonder if the Time Tracker from this can be applied to 5E sessions in general. To be quite honest, aside from rounds/time, I don't know if 5E has a legit time tracking or what not for stuff outside of battles.
