As a community we can warn each other and also can generally spot it is a scam, because we know Wizards aren't likely to produce it in that way or allow another company to use their IP that way.

The real concern is what happens when it come up in your Mum's & Dad's feed or the grandparents that think it would be a nice idea for the grandchild that is into D&D for Christmas.

So warn your family as well.

... looks pretty cool!

(Edit - looks like it might be a scam or something)

BB yes it is a scam, I ordered a Deluxe box for 50 Euro, only to find all the sites disappear quickly after, I've been trying without any success to get this Advent through official Dungeons and Dragons channels, but it's amazing how unhelpful they're being. Alot of people will get scammed this year based on how cool this Advent looks but I think D&D doesn't really care.

I'm sure they do care as it will ultimately tarnish their brand, but I doubt there is much they can do about it, even if it was their responsibility.

Facebook are the ones that are ultimately responsible (and profiting off the advert) and are actually in a position to do something about it, if you are going to get cross be cross with them not Wizard of the Coast or Games Workshop or the other companies that these scammer exploit.

It's not just a scam that these sites were selling it, it's a scam that there even is such a product. You won't have any success buying it through official channels because it doesn't exist.

What do you mean by official D&D channels and what could they possibly do about it? They have no ability it control something like this.

It's really troubling that ads for this are still up, several weeks after this thing's been busted as fraudulent. What on earth is wrong with these social media companies* allowing a scam to run on their platforms?

* Yes, this is a rhetorical question.

Yeah, they disappeared for a while (after I reported each one), and are back up again. FB is really dropping the ball here. No surprise. Too busy suppressing things like this (yes, they hid this behind a warning)

and letting actual hate speech and clear fraudulent material get a free pass. I can't figure out their algorithms, but supposedly they are "genius and can find out everything", but it doesn't look like it.

I know a few people on these boards 'bought' these calendars. I'd be interested in hearing if their card info was stolen, or if - against all odds - they get anything shipped to them.
