D&D 5E 5e Characters Based on Hamilton Characters?

Specifically I’m thinking of the somewhat cinematic take on the characters presented in the Hamilton musical.

I keep turning a poor orphan immigrant revolutionary PC over in my head, inspired by the titular character of the play, and I’m curious.

Let’s say you have to pick a 5e published setting, and use official options if possible.

Hamilton as an Eloquence Bard with a few Rogue levels, or just a Mastermind Rogue?

Lafeyette the Swashbuckler Rogue/Battlemaster Fighter?

I’m thinking Eberron is perfect for a story of revolution that will be recognizable to a modern audience who grew up on stories of early modern revolutions. With Xendrik you could even use Stormreach as your American stand in, basically taking the place of both New York and the colonies in general.

Any thoughts?

Aaron Burr should be a rogue all the way. He was very shifty and didn't want to commit to a position.

Lafayette is good how you have him.

Washington should be a straight Fighter/Battlemaster

King George I'm having trouble with.

Any thoughts?

I want to be in the room where it happens.

Stealing canons, being a good shot but not a trained soldier, etc. also Mastermind/Eloquence Bard makes a hell of an enabling captain type, but on the shady scrappy side, which fits IMO.

Idk shifty yeah, but very charming and likable, educated, eloquent, etc.

Laurens should be a fighter type. Perhaps a Champion.

My favorite rogues to play are ones with high intelligence and knowledge skills. High charisma is also a rogue trait.

Fair. I guess I see him as a fairly direct foil to Hamilton, of the “as alike as they are different” type, and also as someone who can engage almost entirely without actually fighting. He had no shortage of bravery on the field, but he wasn’t a good fighter. 5e rogues are good at fighting.

Mulligan was a spy, so Rogue/Assassin(has spyish abilities) might be a good fit.

Absolutely

Laurens should be a fighter type. Perhaps a Champion.

I’d be tempted to go Paladin with Lawrence, but a fighter could work too.

Jefferson is even more of a Eloquence Bard than Hamilton. That’s why they picked him to write the Declaration (and later made him an ambassador). But you could make him a Lore Bard, for better contrast.

Also throw in a couple of levels of Artificer, as Jefferson was an inveterate tinkerer.

Madison is probably best represented as some kind of homebrew NPC Sage class.

(On a more serious note - if you just are looking at it as a musical, you’re going to end up with bards. If you’re looking at the story the musical tells you, they won’t be bards. Hamilton was much more known for his bravery … foolhardiness on occasion … and his intelligence.)
