D&D 5E What do you want and not want out of future settings added to 5E?

It's the sort of world building advice that would actually be useful in the DMG. Not everyone is an expert on historical weapons and armour.
If they are, they can do the customisation, and if they are not, they are probably not interested anyway. I think WotC did the right choice of leaving the DMG light in terms of options, I would even have removed a few more of them, but considering the sales of 5e, it's hard to criticise...

It's not light, it's full of a ton of useless advice. It would be nice to have some advice I could use apart from the magic item list.

And simple advice for adjusting available equipment for different settings would be very helpful for beginners.
And my point is that no, it would not, obviously. Once more, simple game, simple weapon rules, who cares apart from a very few people ? After that, when WotC publishes settings, they can have their own tables there, but once more the lack of it just goes to prove that few people care.

Tech level is a simple rule that can enable a world builder to quickly and easily adjust the feel of their world.
And D&D is a medieval-level (even renaissance is an option, and one that barely fits properly) roleplaying game, always has been. It has no intention to fit other tech levels, most of these attempts have been really poor at modelling it and have had really little success. Again, very few people care.

I don't want them to release any classic settings. Because that might be the only way to get the people who keep saying they want older settings released to 5E to finally give up on that idea and instead just play the older versions of the settings they already own and update them to 5E themselves. Because anything WotC does to publish these old settings for 5E is only going to remove or change things that these classic players felt like they HAD to have had for it to be a true representation... and they're going to just come here on the boards complaining and complaining and complaining. And frankly I'd just rather not see the boards here flooded with the inevitable caterwauling.

I can tell you all right now... a good lot of you are going to hate Dark Sun 5E if/when it gets released. So do yourself a favor and go dust off your 2E Athas material, do a google search for a set of defiler/preserver and breakable weapon house rules... and then play in Dark Sun with what you already got. It's the only way you're going to be truly happy. ;)
