D&D 5E Did Monsters of the Multiverse miss a trick re: Lineage

So I don't have the book, as I am waiting for the later individual release. However, based on all I have heard from reviews and discussions, it seems like the Lineage systems introduced in the recent Ravenloft book were not used, and this feels like a real missed opportunity.
The following existing races should be made into lineages: Aasimar, Tiefling, Genasi, Shifter.
I am doing as much for my upcoming campaign. No real mechanical changes, more about appearances and available languages at start of play.
Thoughts?

I'd disagree as they've really become more of a thing on their own rather than a template. Especially the teiflings. I don't see any harm in having Small versions of each though.

I get it, and I can see it (since the Ravenloft Lineages are just templates by another name) but I really would have rathered they do the other plane-touched races, like Wisplings and expand on that some way.

Its not a great implementation how it is currently though, I admit.

They have made it so aasimar and genasi can be small or medium. It’s entirely possible they’ll make it so you can play a small tiefling in 50Ae.

Aren't the lineages in in Van Richten's templates in flavor only? I thought you just use the Dhampir etc stats and don't get anything from your original lineage.
