Anything you miss from older monster manual stat blocks?

Alignment.

There's, I said it, and we will never need to talk about it again in this thread. If anyone brings it up just tell them that we covered it already.

Also, I always had a soft spot for the black and white art.

once 3e decided that the game needed balanced encounters, the idea of randomly stumbling onto 3d10x10 orcs started to feel like a bit too much spread on those numbers even with a bell curve.
Bear in mind that these numbers were, back in earlier editions, meant to be taken in the context of fighters getting a large number of attacks against very low-level foes.

Oh I remember that in the 2e book as an optional rule, where Fighters got 1 attack per level against weak monsters. I don't think anyone used it though.

EDIT: sorry, anyone I knew of, that is. I'm sure some groups did- it was probably a lot of fun!

Yes - this rule is actually one of the rules I think of when I think of the AD&D players around me when I was young grappling with the complexity of the rules/presentation of rules by ignoring them or not knowing them. I don't think any of the groups that ran AD&D around me used that rule for fighters - I'm not sure any of the folks who ran it even knew it was a rule. I definitely don't remember 3rd level fighters getting 3 attacks when the opponent was goblins or kobolds in any of the games I played in, and I remember first running across that rule in college and realizing just how much it would change the game if fighters got to make 1 attack per level when fighting anything with less than 1 HD instead of their usual number of attacks per round.

Unless it's using saving throwaps as in 5th edition, it's missing saving throws.

And the XP value.
Thanks. Saving throws probably will just be based on the ability scores. I should show the modifier bonus though. Nothing set in stone yet.

XP, I am very tempted to remove all together and have the entire system only use milestone levelling. I just can't decide on whether not I truly like or want that much simplification. Need to sleep on it more.
