Limit Break Dancing
Hello everyone, it's time for another Survivor thread! As you already know, I'll be taking over the Survivor 5E Threads for a little while...so if you have any suggestions for upcoming topics, feel free to DM me.

-----
So!

We're just over the halfway point of the "Battle of the Gods" series, and I felt like we could use a little bit of a breather before we get into real-world mythologies and pantheons. You know, mix things up, keep it fresh. We will pick it back up in a few weeks, but first we are going to find out which 5E electronic product will survive! And keep reading to find out how you can win a copy of one of these great products!

Survivor: 5E Charity Fundraisers
Below is a list of PDF and Print-On-Demand (POD) products that were released by Wizards of the Coast as charity fundraisers for either the Extra Life Foundation or for Red Nose Day. Some of them were game supplements with new character options, others were campaign expansions, and others still were ready-to-play adventure modules. While they vary greatly in size and content, they were all electronic releases only, and all of them benefitted a great cause. I've included hyperlinks to where you can still purchase them, and still contribute to these excellent causes.

The Rules and Stuff
  • Each product starts with 20 points.
  • Every day, you vote for one option that you like, which gains 1 point. And then you vote for a different product that you like less, which loses 2 points. It is intentional that a negative vote is worth more than a positive vote - first, because it takes something extra to whittle these guys down to size. Second, because.
  • Mark your upvotes in green, and downvotes in red. Or just show them in bold text and use "+1" and "-2" to mark them, if colored text is too difficult on your browsing device.
  • It's easier if you just copy and paste the previous poster’s vote and change the numbers.
  • You may vote only once per day in each category. This is an honor system, and we are all honorable gamers; please do not abuse it. If this means you vote once at night one day, and once the next morning - that's fine, but don't vote again until the following day. Rule of thumb: if your most recent vote post says "yesterday" in the date tag, you can vote again.
  • This is purely a popularity contest and you do not have to explain an upvote or downvote, but feel free to - explanations are where the fun is! When downvotes reach 0 the option/variant is removed from the list.
  • Finally, if an entry has one vote left, then you have to make the choice to use all of your downvotes to eliminate it; there is no vote splitting. In addition, you can't upvote and downvote the same entry (no "see" votes). And you have to use BOTH YOUR UPVOTE AND DOWNVOTE if you vote.

The Most Important Bits
Three important points that you must read before voting--
  1. This is a pure popularity contest, and is meant to be fun. You can cast your votes for whatever reason you want; spite, Venus ascendant, fudging dice rolls, demonic influence, rock-paper-scissors, International Bitterness Units, strategic voting, and so on are all perfectly acceptable. You can comment for the reasons for your vote, or not - up to you! But this is for enjoyment only.
  2. This list features products that were: (1) only released electronically, (2) by Wizards of the Coast, (3) for the 5E D&D system, (4) with proceeds going to charity. No other products are eligible for the list.
  3. As always, the list is the list. If you have a complaint about the list, please direct it to /dev/null.
So. Onward to the contest!

THE CONTESTANTS:
The Tortle Package (game supplement, 28 pages)
One Grung Above (character summary, 4 pages)
The Lost Kenku (adventure for 4th level characters, 9 pages)
Lost Laboratory of Kwalish (adventure for 5-10th level characters, 61 pages)
Locathah Rising (adventure for 9th level locathah characters, 39 pages)
Infernal Machine Rebuild (adventure for 5-10th level characters, 111 pages)
Mordenkainen's Fiendish Folio, Vol 1: Monsters Malevolent and Benign (game supplement, 21 pages)
Return to Glory (adventure for 6-8th level characters, 38 pages)
Domains of Delight (game accessory, 36 pages)
Minsc and Boo's Journal of Villainy (game accessory, 158 pages)

And while it's not a Wizards of the Coast release (and therefore, not eligible for participation in the contest), I want to give a shout-out to ENWorld's Blessings, Healing, and Peace for Ukraine crowdfunder, in the banner above. A collection of healing spells, rewards, magical ceremonies & monk archetypes for your D&D 5E games, with 100% of the proceeds from this campaign being donated to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal. Thank you so much for your support.

SURVIVOR RAFFLE!
And here's a little more sugar for this contest: everyone who participates in this thread is eligible to win a copy of the Surviving product! And the more you participate, the greater your odds!

1. You need a valid email address to win.
2. You also need to set up an account at DM'S Guild, with that email address.
3. Only electronic files (.PDFs) will be awarded, no other formats.
4. The product that wins this contest will be the product awarded.
5. No purchase necessary, void where prohibited, etc.

Here's a bit more info about how this raffle is going to work.
  • At the end of the contest, one product will be "The Survivor." This product will be the prize that is awarded.
  • There will also be a number of posts in the thread (for example: this is Post #1.)
  • I will generate a random number between 2 (the first vote) and X, where X is the post number of the winning vote.
    • I'll find that random post number in the thread.
    • If that post is a vote (and not random commentary or a math correction), that post's author wins.
    • If that post isn't a vote, or if it's one of my votes, or if it's someone who has already won, it will be rerolled.
    • This process will be repeated until 3 winners are selected.
    • Thus, all you need to do to enter the raffle is vote! And the more often you vote, the better your odds of winning.
  • I will send a DM to each of the 3 winners, asking them for their e-mail address.
  • I will go to the product page on DM's Guild, and order an electronic copy of The Survivor, and send it to the winners' email addresses.
    • You will get a product code by email.
    • Log on to DM's Guild (setting up an account if you don't already have one),
    • enter the code in the email,
    • and a copy of The Survivor will be added to your library on DM's Guild.
    • Download it at your leisure.

Some questions I've been asked...

Why do you need my e-mail address?
You need a valid email address because the product will be delivered electronically to that email address. But also for security: DM's Guild will create a brand-new PDF for you, and this new PDF will be watermarked with your email address. This is a kind of copy-protection (well, more like a copy-tracking) feature of the electronic file, a way of proving the PDF was purchased properly.

Can I get a gift certificate instead?
Nope, those are considered a type of "cash prize" and I don't want to have to deal with that on my end.

How about a Print-on-Demand (POD) copy instead?
Nope, I don't want to have to deal with added shipping and handling costs. The prize will be delivered in electronic (PDF) format only, to your email address.

Why do I have to have a valid DM's Guild account?
You need a valid DM's Guild account because this is where I will be purchasing the prizes from. While these products are available from other distributors, the DM's Guild is offering donations to charity, and I wish to support that. Also, the DM's Guild is awesome.

What if I win, but I already own a copy of The Survivor?
I'm still looking into this. The way I understand it, when I type your email address into the order form at DM's Guild, it will prompt me with a message saying "this person already owns a copy of this" or something along those lines. If that happens, I'll reach out for more information.

What if I don't want to share my email address? What if I don't want to make a DM's Guild account?
I can't send your prize if you don't have an email address you're willing to share with me. And you can't download the prize from DM's Guild without registering with DM's Guild. These are the rules that I have to follow for the legal purchase and distribution of electronic products, and I respect them.
