I think the CR AL campaign is seperate from FR AL campaign, but Radiant Citadel isn't.

Once again the Forgotten Realms devours another setting, the apex predator of D&D full and satisfied with it current meal...for now!

It means that if you play Radiant Citadel in Adventurers league is will use FR - i.e. core - rules.

They are developing another a set of rules specifically for Critical Role AL games.

It means more then that, it means AL will build links between Radiant Citadel and the Forgotten Realms, so you can move between adventures set on Toril, Domains of Delight, Radiant Citadel, and maybe Hell.

It always has been connected to all of those. Radiant Citadel is an adventure collection, not a setting book, it connects to every pert of the standard D&D multiverse.

In the sense of they are all part of the same multiverse, but in more specific terms they aren't going to have you wondering around the Ethereal Plane searching for the Radiant Citadel, it means that some region or even a few regions of FR, say Waterdeep and/or Chult ends up a Founder Civilization rediscovered so that you can hop aboard a Crystal there to take a trip to the Radiant Citadel.

They leave the possiblity open, the possiblity of rediscovered founder civilizations, but that's it, AL will have to make a concrete choices as to what FR nations are Founder Civilizations for Radiant Citadel. Maybe Waterdeep, Chult, and Phlan for example. Or just Waterdeep.

Ajit's been clear. There are a handful of shard-portals that aren't connected to adventures.
Any or all of those can connect to any world anyone wants
