WotC D&D Products Delayed Including Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel

WotC has announced that Journeys Through The Radiant Citadel will be delayed a month from June 21st to July 19th. The D&D Beyond version is being similarly delayed.

Due to production issues, two upcoming D&D products have been delayed:

Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel (digital & in stores) arrives July 19

Campaign Case: Terrain arrives August 16

Campaign Case: Creatures (7/19) & Spelljammer: Adventures in Space (8/16) are unaffected.

Not necessarily: Theros was delayed in 2020, but Icewind Dale still hit the normal September time frame.

WotC has the advantage thst the books themselves are printed in the US, so it's not the books themselves that are caught up in port or what have you. If they can get the raw materials at the printer for Radiant Citadel in July, then Spelljammer in August is probably not a problem.
Yeah maybe. The way things are going, I'm not holding my breath.

Actually, I'd go so far as to suggest thst they delayed announcing the delay (which we know they did, because Roll20 let the vat out of the bag way early) precisely so they could be certain about where Spelljammer would be in the pipeline.

If Citadel was due to be on shelves in less than a month, then is has to have been printed already. I wonder if it is yet another book with sections/covers bound upside down and they are having to reprint a big chunk before shipping them out to the wholesalers.

Not necessarily: they are shipping from a printer within the contiguous United States, so it's more likely the raw materials weren't ready to go yet. There is a global paper shortage.

Maybe they are using Canadian paper and it got held up at the border for a while. ;)
There's been paper shortage issues for the last two years in Canada as well. Sometimes we just had to shift paper grade or format just to get stuff printed.

And yet there was a paper mill in BC Canada that closed in the last year citing "decreased paper demand" as the reason for closure. Something fishy there...
