D&D Movie/TV Here's The D&D Movie Trailer!

"Who needs heroes when you have thieves?" The movie arrives March 3rd, 2023. Here's the trailer! When they said it was inspired by Guardians of the Galaxy, they weren't kidding! We have dragons, owlbears, mimics, gelatinous cubes, quips, and more!



There was also a clip shown at San Diego Comic Con where the party cast speak with dead, and got to ask five questions. Also, apparently, the D&D cartoon characters from the 80s have a cameo!

D&D Dwarves are taller then LotR Dwarves so you don't mix them up with Halflings and Gnomes.

Yep, D&D 5E dwarves can be up to about 5 feet tall. And with Michelle being 5' 5", some camera tricks can make her look just a bit shorter than in real life.

The official D&D YouTube channel just dropped a 20-ish minute video with Chris Perkins and Todd Kenreck breaking down the easter eggs from the trailer.

Total non-sequitur but does anyone recognize the painting behind Chris Perkins? It looks super familiar but I can't quite place it. (The painting behind Todd is obviously of Minsc.)

On topic, they show the shots of the city on the coast with the castle when Chris is talking about Neverwinter, so I suspect that is the city we see in the trailer, not Waterdeep.

Also interesting to note that Revel's End from Rime of the Frost Maiden was created for this movie.

Okay, the enthusiasm by Rege Jean Page in this video is awesome. The more I see the cast talk about this movie, the more excited I am for it.

Honestly, there's like no difference between the statblock of a cave bear and an owlbear, so if a player wanted to shapeshift into an owlbear, I'd just say ''yeah cool, use one of the bear statblock''.

That's Neverwinter, not Waterdeep.

Edit: The cityscape we see twice doesn't quite match Neverwinter, either. But it's much closer than Waterdeep, which, for one thing, doesn't have a river running through it.

In the interview, Perkins mentions that Neverwinter is still in the process of being rebuilt since the earlier volcanic disaster.
