There was also a clip shown at San Diego Comic Con where the party cast speak with dead, and got to ask five questions. Also, apparently, the D&D cartoon characters from the 80s have a cameo!

I was hoping for a more immersive take on the Forgotten Realms, but at least it looks like it’ll provide some good laughs.

And it looks like this will be fairly accurate in terms of how many (most?) groups actually play the game, rather than how the setting is portrayed in books and other media.

Something like the Avatar series or Dragonlance Chronicles can only really work as a TV series anyway, but standalone novels like The Azure Bonds could perhaps work. But it is probably a riskier formula than action comedy.

As for the owlbear, maybe post-release we’ll get a list of “official” D&D movie homebrew rules from their DM. :)
