I will go to my grave arguing that Conan the Destroyer is a fun movie and the only reason it gets bagged on so much is because it's tonal whiplash compared to Conan the Barbarian.
It totally is a fun movie. It's also a super cheesy B movie, following a movie (CtB) which was far better than it had any right to be, thanks to the work of killer supporting cast folks like James Earl Jones, Max von Sydow, and Mako, and one of the greatest film scores of all time.

Hawk the Slayer says "Hi, I beat that by 4 years."
I always forget that one. Somehow I've managed not to see it over all these years.

But it screws with the dump STAT of Charisma, if these are 12 or less! :)

No, it is just an example of the player having different abilities than the character, and some of the issues this presents with social mechanics of the game. We've had a bunch of threads on this over time....

That's how humans breath acid IRL, TBF...

That only seems fair, given that Conan the Destroyer is the original D&D movie.
My initial response was "is that dragon drunk?" before I realized it was a black dragon, and I'm not sure that's the response they were looking for. No one who isn't familiar with D&D dragons will understand why it isn't breathing fire, so that means there is gonna have to be at least one line of dialogue where they have to explain D&D mechanics to the audience- which are just throwaway lines of exposition. I really hope they don't have too many of those.

Who needs escapist fiction to be about physical beauty?
I just did a Twitter search, and there’s a whooolle lot of people there posting about how they don’t give a damn about D&D but are going to see this movie because they think Chris Pine or Michelle Rodriguez or Rene Jean Page are hot.

So in answer to your question, the producers who want those people’s ticket money are the ones who need their escapist fiction to be about physical beauty! 😝
