Those are adaptions (of books, comic books, etc) not remakes of an original film or tv show.
they remade the character and reimagined them. that is a reimagining. every adaption that isn't 100% exact is a reimagining to one extent of another
IE Like The Thing from the 80s is not a remake of the old black and white Thing From Another World film. They are both adaptions of a book.
both reimagine the story...
A remake is like remaking Friday the 13th (which blew)
have not seen it.
(same with any 80s horror remake from Halloween to Childs Play).
the childs pay ones are fun.
The Evil Dead one took a funny campy 80's movie I wore out the VHS copy I had of and made it real scary... it was a good reimagining.
The Force Awakens was practically a remake of A New Hope.
wait... when they give us a new origin story for spiderman that is still peter parker spiderman that IS NOT a remake, but a movie 20 years later with all the orginal characters as older side characters and new heroes is 'practically a remake'? that seems to be a contradiction.

the racism/sexism right out for a game (it's okay for a story but not a game we are expecting to play with different people)
from a story point of view some minor tweaks would be enough... change 'good' and 'evil' to light and dark, and make some evil in the light side and some good in the dark side... then do the same with the wizards align the towers with the moons but not a concept of good and evil.

add an option for the DM to insert other races, it doesn't take much more then a page to show how you can include any/all races.

not in a thread where we are talking about reimagining a campaign setting that is comeing out no matter what
You didn't answer my question. What changes do you want WotC to make that wouldn't make DL just like every other modern setting release? You said you wanted variance.

So they grouped the gods with individual alignments into categories with names. If two of the FR gods with good alignments suddenly started calling themselves "the gods of good", would  that setting suddenly become unacceptable and need to be "reimagined"?
TBF I have MANY reasons to say FR realms needs a reimagining, and that would not crack my top 20 reasons...
Are the labels really that important?
if not how is removing or changing the lable an issue?

um you quoted my changes... change the pantheon grouping, the alginment axis of the tower and the here I will copy and paste...

Dragonlance is supposed to be a setting of the balance of Good and Evil. Those are cosmic sides.
Again, why do the labels matter? The people in-universe see them this way, and in fact the question of why good allowed an evil like the Cataclysm to happen is a subject of philosophical debate on Krynn. That sounds pretty cool to me.

So... a remake is only a remake if one doesn't like the result, regardless of whether it's actually a remake ore not?

Because TFA is a sequel for as much as it rehashes ANH.

And I also think the inconsistencies are bizarre. The idea of paladin monarchs is rife in D&D worlds, just as its found in Arthurian stories, in LotR, in Earthsea, even in one of REH's Conan stories (the Hour of the Dragon). This requires just as much suspension of modernist moral belief as the Cataclysm does.
See, here's the thing. If, in a D&D game, a paladin monarch decided to go mass-murdering people because their king committed the "sin of pride," that paladin would fall. They would (in previous editions) lose their paladin status or (in 5e) become something like an Oathbreaker or Conquest paladin, and probably have their alignment changed to Chaotic Evil.

Did anything like that happen to the gods of Krynn?

Those changes don't make the setting different from other modern setting releases, they make it the same. You said you wanted variance. Did you just mean you want it to be just like Exandria, or Eberron?
