Can’t get your Star Frontiers New Generation fix? Why not just use the original?

At @darjr ’s request, I’m posting screenshots from my just-arrived hardcover copy of Star Frontiers Alpha Dawn. It’s also available in softcover.



The cover … is pink/purple? My boxed set is blue, but I have seen the original in this color. Not sure which version was first, but the glossy cover looks fantastic in person.

The maps are bound into the book as well, but if you get the PDF, you can print them separately if you need to use them. They do look great though-very crisp and colorful.

It’s even got the chits, which my box set is missing after all these years. Again, if you need to print them for actual use I’d suggest doing so from the PDF, because you can’t poke ‘em out (though they are so crisp it looks like you could). But it’s nice to have them for reference!

And after October 2023, it'll once again be proven in court to be the only legitimate version of Star Frontiers. Wizards will not only seize back Star Frontiers from the pretenders who claim to own the game, but they'll also grab TSR as well from the squatters. It'll be a great day for everyone when Lanasa is forced to hand everything over and he can start refocusing on his imminent bankruptcy paperwork like a good U.S. citizen.

My copies of both Alpha Dawn and Knight Hawks arrived today. I have a near mint Alpha Dawn box set to compare them to as well. The Alpha Dawn Hardcover includes both rule books as well as the Crash on Volturnus module. As you can see the magenta hardcover is a tad lighter than the original and the overall size is slightly larger:

As mentioned above all of these cardboard counters are included in paper form as pages bound into the book.

Ordered a copy. Not sure I really need to print out anything though. The maps are nice but don’t really need them IMO.

You could get the softcover version and make/get printed a box for it. Something like this, though they won't print copyrighted material. Ditto for the maps and even the chits. It won't be exactly like having the original, but you should be able to get pretty close, maybe improve on with some updated maps & stuff.
