This epic war story begins with an invitation to a friend's funeral and three optional prelude encounters that guide you into the world of Krynn. Amy Dallen is joined by Eugenio Vargas to share some details about how these opening preludes work and some advice on using them in your own D&D games.

There is also information on the three short 'prelude' adventures which introduce players to the world of Krynn:
  • Eye in the Sky -- ideal for sorcerers, warlocks, wizards, or others seeking to become members of the Mages of High Sorcery.
  • Broken Silence -- ideal for clerics, druids, paladins, and other characters with god-given powers.
  • Scales of War -- ideal for any character and reveals the mysterious draconians.
The article discusses Session Zero for the campaign and outlines what to expect in a Dragonlance game -- war, death, refugees, and so on.

that is all i am asking for to remove the color codeing...
white robe lawful evil and black robe chaotic good seem perfectly fine to me

White LE, almost seems worse than White CE. Regardless, we wont agree, but odds are you'll get your wish anyway. Best I could hope for is a 'typically'. descriptor in there somewhere.

Its sad, because Wizards knew what should be there in the first UA, because that is what the setting supported, but alas.

Ironicly typically or mostly is what I want... and as sad as I am that you are not getting what you want, only 1 of us can.

A LE White Robe seems like the most natural thing in the world to me... Hell, I'd argue the system the Towers of High Sorcery operate under were designed by one.

I sincerely want to make the world a better, more harmonious place, but the world will never be in harmony so long as discordant elements are allowed to run wild. Thus harmony requires order, and order requires control. So you see, it really is for the good of everyone that I take over the world. If you understand that, then naturally you'll be happy to join me... Or are you one of those discordant elements that must needs be brought to heel for the harmony to ring more pure?

Standard issue well-intentioned extremist.

"Officer, I have done nothing but good, yes I arrested the man I caught red handed shop lifting, and yes it resulted in me needing to beat him up. No, I am not a Police officer. Wait...I'm under arrest?"

Now, imagine its instead of someone committing a petty crime, its someone who can raise the dead, or throw around fireballs.

I actually think the concept of the order makes way more sense than 'yeah let the walking bomb just go his way and get stronger'.
Listen. It's not that we don't want the Avengers to fight crime and save the world. We just want them to abide by the Sokovia Accords. Is that so unreasonable?

You know that evil doesn’t mean chaotic stupid, right?
Weird how I didn't say that anywhere in my post. I gave a low hanging fruit example that I figured would immediately give people an idea of what I'm talking about and not require clarification. There's obviously a lot more that might go into "responsible" use of magic, do I really need to spell that out?

okay, so if the good guys who are aligned with the cosmic force of good find someone with JOKER level morality BUT he says "Sure let me take the test"
or WORSE
someone that is kinda on the brink and the test drives them to CE joker levels...

those are now allies and part of the 'family'

BUT
someone who is altruistic and only wants to help people with magic and is NG BUT also says "I can't join an organization that lets evil like the joker in" THEY are branded renegade and hunted... by the good guys.
Like has been said, such a person has rejected the organization, and the Order is more important than the individual moral leanings of its members. The literature is very clear about this.
