This epic war story begins with an invitation to a friend's funeral and three optional prelude encounters that guide you into the world of Krynn. Amy Dallen is joined by Eugenio Vargas to share some details about how these opening preludes work and some advice on using them in your own D&D games.

There is also information on the three short 'prelude' adventures which introduce players to the world of Krynn:
  • Eye in the Sky -- ideal for sorcerers, warlocks, wizards, or others seeking to become members of the Mages of High Sorcery.
  • Broken Silence -- ideal for clerics, druids, paladins, and other characters with god-given powers.
  • Scales of War -- ideal for any character and reveals the mysterious draconians.
The article discusses Session Zero for the campaign and outlines what to expect in a Dragonlance game -- war, death, refugees, and so on.

Don't use alignment then. You realise it's optional?
we haven't in years... by the end of 3.5 (we were really already in other systems) we were annoyed at it but 4e was a HUGE break point when we realized how verstile unaligned was... we don't write D&D alingments down much.

What I am asking for though isn't a house rule. I am asking for it to be the standard for WotC (and I think it may be)

A LE White Robe seems like the most natural thing in the world to me... Hell, I'd argue the system the Towers of High Sorcery operate under were designed by one.
yeah that is why I used it... TBH i feel it would be easier (IMO) to see a LE white robe then a Chaotic Good one.
I sincerely want to make the world a better, more harmonious place, but the world will never be in harmony so long as discordant elements are allowed to run wild. Thus harmony requires order, and order requires control. So you see, it really is for the good of everyone that I take over the world. If you understand that, then naturally you'll be happy to join me... Or are you one of those discordant elements that must needs be brought to heel for the harmony to ring more pure?

Standard issue well-intentioned extremist.

Like has been said, such a person has rejected the organization, and the Order is more important than the individual moral leanings of its members. The literature is very clear about this.
and I see no reason why the order would let KNOWN evil magic users continue to do EVIL just by the letter of the law instead of marking all the evil ones dangerus.

Why? Why is it so important that your way be the official way?

Because doing evil or good is less important than keeping ALL magic alive. The Wizards of High Sorcery is not a good organization. You want it to be something it's not.

They dont? In the Tower, its all about the magic. No fighting. Out on the street, you do evil with your magic, then good mages are going to take you out.

Tower is Neutral ground. That's it.

Have you read any of the recent Krakkoa X-Men?
yup, have you read any of the fan reactions to it?
Magneto, Mystique, Sinister, Apocalypse, and several former members of the Hellfire Club and Brotherhood of Mutants aren't just allowed to live there along with the X-Men, some hold positions of leadership.
And where I can understand Magneto (who did the face turn long ago) and can make an argument that 🅰️ is trying... Sinister and Mystique (especially Essex) should not be on that counsel.

However even the MOST supportive of the new Krakkoa area say it is pragmatic not it is good
