This epic war story begins with an invitation to a friend's funeral and three optional prelude encounters that guide you into the world of Krynn. Amy Dallen is joined by Eugenio Vargas to share some details about how these opening preludes work and some advice on using them in your own D&D games.

There is also information on the three short 'prelude' adventures which introduce players to the world of Krynn:
  • Eye in the Sky -- ideal for sorcerers, warlocks, wizards, or others seeking to become members of the Mages of High Sorcery.
  • Broken Silence -- ideal for clerics, druids, paladins, and other characters with god-given powers.
  • Scales of War -- ideal for any character and reveals the mysterious draconians.
The article discusses Session Zero for the campaign and outlines what to expect in a Dragonlance game -- war, death, refugees, and so on.

I'm not sure I get where you're coming from here. Could you elaborate on this?
I have a few different points, but that was to counter the 1 of me 'not getting' the setting

by removing the idea of an 'evil' subset and taking the 5e idea of alingment not being able to be identified and being (almost) not used would improve the game world for 2022...

not really, If you want to keep it as teh neutral organization then we need a good one to appose it,
... why?

What do you think the purpose of the order's is? Why would you have a Good organization, in opposition to a balanced one, when one of the points of the setting is balance.

Why do you think a mountain was dropped on Istar if not (in part! because this is the internet after all) if not because Good, got a little TOO uppity.

Like my man, this is the whole point.

less and less each year

Yes, removal of this, diluting it, generalization, all great things for the game as a whole I'm sure.

Do you envision this changing if they change things to be closer to what you're proposing? I don't see the Towers being a safe haven changing regardless of who gets to wear what robe.
I expect that there will be evil people in any given (I guess non paladin) organization. I just expect that if the organization ALSO has a big group of good ones the evil ones can not be easily picked out.

Hiding in plain sight. Gotcha. The book Legend of Huma featured a Solamnic Knight who was actually a priest of Morgion spreading a plague from within to hinder the knights. I really enjoyed that story.

Given the number of YouTube Dragonlance videos WotC has posted lately that I've watched, the algorithm decided this video was appropriate for me and so I gave it a watch. I think he makes some good points and honestly it's where I am at this point. I'll give SotDQ a read and if I like enough of it, I'll run it for my table. If it sucks, I still have plenty of books that feature material I already love so no harm done.

because this is a reimagining for 2022+

protect magic

because the balance is really good at shielding evil and as such messing with the balance.
i disagree with HOW the balance is shown in those books. I like them at 13 but in my 40's I want it updated.

if an organization of 'balance' wants to protect an evil person (single 1 time) that throws the balance into question. If they knowingly do it on the regular it doesn't look very balanced at all.

(again Sinister is a monster, he should not be ruling a country)
Why do you think a mountain was dropped on Istar if not (in part! because this is the internet after all) if not because Good, got a little TOO uppity.
you seem to have missed all these threads where I keep pointing out that this is NOT what was shown... every action that shows how 'bad' the overwhelm good was... are really someone who may have been good once doing evil.

For the balance to... wait
Like my man, this is the whole point.
the point of balance being needed is amazing, and I love it. I just want it to make sense. I want if we call out a time when good reigned to show how GOOD caused problems. (I can even make some suggestions because in my own homebrew worlds I have done that... but mine only needs to pass a handful of eyes so would need some work)

no it doesn't. I am asking to make something make since in modern D&D and to still be different. I am not asking for war wizards of cormyr or elmunchkin and the chosen to be there instead of the tower. I am asking for (IMO) fixing the inconsistency of the tower.

don't know it but sounds amazing.

in my mind if the white/red/black isn't direct moral (maybe still inderiect) you get the idea that the LG white robe guy hangs out with the LE white robe guy and thinks he is a little selfish but mostly a good guy... the CG black robe woman exchanges tips on magic with the NE black robe woman and has no way to know she is helping someone who is evil. When that LG white robe guy then goes and sees the two (CG AND NE) black robe women he ISN'T seeing dark monsters let into the order but people who specialize in something he doesn't... The fact that he has some in common with 1 and some in common with the other reminds him they are all 'in this for the good'

Now when the black robes do something evil, or for that matter if a white robe does, they come down on them.
