D&D (2024) What do you want to see from the bastion system?

Upgradable bases where the upgrades give bonuses to stats/skills or feats. Eg if I upgrade a base with an archery range gain +2 bonus to range attacks kinda thing, or add a Hospital to my Temple and get bonus healing.

Also fun NPC interactions

My current DM is running our base like this. We opened a relationship with breeders in a nearby town, built a stable, and now everyone in the brotherhood is trained in Animal Handling, including new PCs. My psi war has mage hand and training everyone in telekinesis, now all members that have trained at the base know mage hand.

I want "Bastions" to be flexible. For some campaigns it might very well be a castle or mage tower, for others it might just be a neighbourhood (like a few blocks) in a crowded metropolis. Or maybe it's a demiplane or a small village in an enchanted grove.

For low level parties it could even be a simple campsite they keep coming back to. Like the bandit camps in Skyrim.

As much as I want to get 700+ page PHB, I do not think that that will happen. We can hope OFC.

Maybe some splatbook few months or year after 2024PHB?
Strongholds, followers, leadership, mass battle, town/city/state building, there is lot's of material for a specialized book.

For PHB I would like 1st ALL classes and subclass that have not been printed for 5E, to be reprinted for 1D&D in same book.

I want my Bastion to be a Mordenkainens Magnificent Mansion that I can cast anywhere.

I dont want a Bastion with a built-in vulnerability like a basement tunnel to the Underdark or whatever. The point is a place that is as safe as possible.

The Bastion should improve while leveling across tier: Student 1-4, Professional 5-8, Master 9-12, grandmaster 13-16, legend 17-20.
