I don't follow
The reason D&D has so little official material and support is because 5e was put out as a placeholder for the actual product of D&D IP. 'Evergreen' is a nice way of saying 'barely supported'.

That it came out into a perfect storm of edition war fatigue, Actual Plays coming into their own, and 80's nostalgia hitting a crescendo was pure accident that they never lifted a finger to capitalize on.

Now they're yowling and whining about it being 'under-monetized' when they absolutely could have for a decade of lucky breaks up to and including the planet shutting down and everyone being trapped in their home playing board games.

It's an extremely good expansion, after one that didn't end up being good, between COVID and all of their HR/lawsuit issues. It's entirely possible WoW was below FF during Shadowlands, which was a long slog.
What game are you two talking about? World of Warcraft sunsetted after Legion.

:)

I'm glad the new expansion is good. I, uh, won't be reupping, but bad games aren't good for anyone.

It took me a long time to justify paying $108/year for a music streaming service, and I am still not convinced it is money well spent. I see my $156/year for FFXIV largely as a "keep Square Enix management from effing with the game" tax, and I still get antsy when my hours in game are low.

It shakes me to the core that anyone would consider paying $360/year for any library, or game, or even both. By all means, rail against corporations, but it is the consumers who really frighten me.
