I hope the world comes up with a new kind of business license, where employees own the company and can vote out executives.

Ironically this was GM for a few years after bankrupcy when the UAW owned a controlling stake. Eventually they sold it off because it is difficult to strongarm the corporation and threaten to strike when you are the owners.

I do agree that I won't care for long.

I've been ramping up on FoundryVTT + Pathfinder 2E and so very soon I will no longer care about anything Wizards does.

As I've noted before, the comments of people that aren't playing D&D for (reasons) is probably not very helpful in terms of understanding what this will mean.

All this drama has resulted in my leaving the one 5e game I was still in. 4e all the way from here on out.

If (general) you have information that you need to research and verify, do so -- and release that stuff when it is researched and verified. You know, like a journalist. Giving a little hint to build hype speaks to clickbait, not news.

I know there's a lot of clickbait on the OGL controversy, but as a former newspaper reporter I can recall times that we turned a big story into a multi-day series and teased what readers would find out if they kept reading tomorrow.

‘Employees fired for having opinions’ could be ‘Employees tries to be heard and thin-skimmed bosses aren’t interested in their feedback’, or it could be ‘opinionated and disgruntled employee cause unpleasant working environment and won’t accept company policy or change so are fired.”

I’ve worked with too many of both types to pass judgement on the right or wrong of a situation. I’m not sure ‘ex-employee doesn’t think their opinion was heard’ counts as news though.

As a DM, I just finished a DnD-based XCrawl campaign.

Normally I'd just stick to DnD for what I create next because that's what my players know.

This gives me the opening to explore another system and bring 7 people with me. And I'm realizing PDFs + old tablets make it easy to hand out the rules to each player. Switching systems in the 80s was such a pain with one rule book at the table.

Although I realized at 5e, my brain was starting to turn to DnD mush about which rules were in which ruleset. From Chainmail, Blue Box, Basic, Expert, Advanced, 2e, 3e, 4e, and 5e, I can no longer make my saving throw vs Rods, Staves, and Wands! (At least I don't have to carry that 10 foot pole with me any more. I mean, it did help me get across that lava moat/river to that sleeping dragon that one time, but... just no!)

That's like 9 versions of DnD... the next version shouldn't be OneDnD, it should be DnD X!
