I get that if you're not a GM, you may well like whatever it is WotC wants to do with D&D going forward. But in all honesty, wouldn't it be better if they were incentivized to just make a great product instead of hobbling the competition in the VTT space?

Only 25,000 people cared enough to sign a petition… not to boycott, just to click a link and tick a box indicating disapproval.

What is that? One 5th of 1% of D&D players at most. What we’re seeing here is a very vocal minority…. And then only because we are on the boards that specifically caters to 3pp.

The only people who miss out here are those boycotting. Who are effectively hurting themselves twice. C’est la vie.

… to be clear if you don’t buy their stuff anyway it’s not a boycott.
I don’t like Stilton cheese so I don’t buy it. I’m not boycotting it though.

On the other hand, every time someone makes a statement like this it undermine the case that 3pp is good for WOtC and strengthens their justification for revocation.

It baffles me.

I might've considered buying movie tickets to their upcoming film. Now I'm definitely not. My behavior over the last decade or so isn't really predictive of my future actions. I could have bought a Player's Handbook tomorrow, but now I really, really don't want to. Are you sure you want to start a debate over the semantics of that?
