Eyes of Nine

Everything's Fine
I'm only going to read the monster book (Boo's Menagerie) if I have to.

So, for the other two books (Astral Adventurer's Guide and Light of Xarixys), which I'll call the "core book" and "the adventure" respectively, how would you read them?

Skip the adventure unless you intend to run it. It's quite the railroad and way easier to come up with something on your own.

Not sure why you're skipping the monster book, it's worth a flip-through and a lot of the monsters are usable in any campaign world - in fact, a large number are from Dark Sun.

The Adventure is useful if you ignore the entire structure and just use the pieces as material.
