Anybody here willing to fess up to using "cheater" dice?

I used to have a set of loaded d6 dice that I bought from a novelty website. They were weighted to favor nat-1s ("snake eyes," useful in craps but not much else) which is kinda the opposite of "cheater." But I was the DM at the time, and I would reach for them whenever the party was on the ropes I needed to pull my punches on damage rolls or whatever.

And in college, I used to have a d20 that was numbered from 11 to 20 twice. I don't remember what game it originally came from, but it wasn't sold individually. I only ever used it in one game because for all that mathematical advantage, I don't remember it ever rolling higher than 13.

Yes, before Covid and our switch to virtual gaming, I used a d20 that had 18,19,and 20 on both sides when making important rolls. It's the black one with white numbers located near right-center in my picture.

I don't care what anyone says about probability distribution. I was rolling consistently low prior to using the cheater.

I’ve used dice that were “good”, see my above post, but not intentionally cheater dice.

One time I had to use a countdown die but used a tower so it couldn’t be be used to cheat.

A player in an old group of mine had one of the old d20s that did the opposite, 0-9 twice. He grabbed it without noticing and rolled with that for most of the session before realizing why his rolls were all terrible.

I've got a bunch of dice like that, and yeah, I know not to use them for attack rolls lol

For roll under, though, they can't be beat!

I kinda miss the mix of roll-under and roll-over checks from AD&D.

These are the ones I use the most, and the guardian that they stay well kept in.

Even of these, I really only ever make use of the 2d6 and 2d20s on the left side.

I like having a blend of roll over and roll under, too. Not everything has to be the same.

I like this layout of all the sets! I have a bunch of non-setted dice though in one of those plastic bins with little boxes - like a fishing tackle box

I also have a travelling set of dice, and a new bunch of dice that's my dungeon23 randomizer dice (along with my new Avatar Legends six siders, in said dice bag)

Guess I just need to share a photo soon...

There is a (small) part of me that is a tiny bit worried that sharing pictures of my dice could curse them to roll 1's forever (good for GURPS! sucks for most other games)

Maybe for those of us who are superstitious, we can agree to throw likes/loves onto the dice photo posts in order to imbue the pictured dice with extra Max rolls
